Intro/progress Thread

Hey everyone! New to acurazine, but I hope to meet some good peoples from the site and be involved in some meets etc. My name is Nelson and I'm from the raleigh NC area. 5 weeks ago I picked up an 03 cls 6 speed. I love the car so far. I have some plans for the car but for now I thought I would at least post up some of the progress I've already started. This is my daily driver so I can't get too crazy with it.

When I bought it.
Interior is near perfect. I added a kenwood touch screen in dash dvd player.

I bought tein street basis coil overs for the car and they are currently maxed out. Debating on ordering the shorter springs for them to bring the front down some more. I have some more room to get the rear down. For now I may try taking off the locking collar under the spring seat to gain another 1/4" Wheels are Stern Wheels Joke face 5's. 18x9.5 +35 225/35/18 all around.

Plans for the car are:

Get the car down some more.
Camber ball joints for the front to get another -1.0 to -1.5 of camber.
Install my jl audio 500/1 and 13.5 w5 shallow mount sub.
Fabricated Cold air intake- Aluminum Tig welded
Headers/full exhaust
NX wet kit 125 shot

Can't wait to hopefully meet some people from the site!

No harm done. Different people different tastes. Though it seems funny to me the first person to comment has two negative things to say and not a single good one. Saw your car, but I've always been told if you have nothing nice to say then don't say it.

I'd say they lips are about 3" or so. You can lay a dollar bill on them

I dig it. I like the tan interior, probably because I have it too haha It's a very clean car. Take care of her and she'll treat you well!

Looks like you picked up a pretty mint 6 speed. I feel you on the Tein Basics not going low enough. Where would you pick up shorter springs for the front?

In relation to the shorter springs, I found this:
http://www.tein.com/products/standar...rice_list.html

Just not sure which ones I need.. hmm might have to call them

Yep, that will be happening by next week. Gonna do 20% all the way around minus the windshield. Gonna check on the lower springs for the coilovers and roll the fenders/trim the tabs and bring it down a little more.

I'm going to call Tein USA. I've found a couple of places to actually purchase the springs, but I want to make sure I get the right ones. You may have to add their helper springs as well. I just want to make sure that they can be used w/out blowing out the struts.

The cleanliness of the interior is pretty amazing for its age. Super super clean, one of my favorite parts of the car. Thanks for the compliments!

Just voicing the ol' opinion. I do love NBP though. There's a CL-P where I live that is NBP and I just want to steal it cause the owner does not take care of it at all

^ I totally know how you feel. There's a really beat up one at my school and I just stare down the kid because he probably hasn't washed it in a year or taken it to a body shop to fix it up and it is begging for a proper owner.

The car is now down a little lower. Still not super low, but I also haul my kid around and loads of groceries in it etc and I don't like rubbing so I'm leaving where she's at now. I would definitely like to make it to the meet for sure!!!!

Im diggin the car bro its lookin good man! I picked up an identical 03 CLS 6 Speed Black with Tan interior and put in a Double DIN dvd player. Also picked up a set of used TEIN basics and had them maxed out but for some reason it was causing my axles to vibrate so i raised the car up an inch and it went away. I really wanna slam it tho. Does yours vibrate at all? And thanks for the idea of removing the locking collar ill have to try that! Check my thread out! :-)

Mine doesn't vibrate, I do have some vibration around 60 but I need to get my wheels balanced again. I have no issues with the axles. I'm on the tein street basis which even when maxed out isn't what most would consider "stanced" its low enough for me though.
