interior update

my seats are beginning to part ways at the seams so along with the decision to update seats (status SPA) and having the ongoing issue with the driver side door card at the handle seperating as many of us have experienced, i decided to delete it and have a simple pull strap similar to porshe. the strap is secured to the metal, not the door card. since these pics, i also covered the lower triangle section of the door. looks much better. as with the exterior, i didnt plan to take it as far as i have but i am happy with the results. when i replace seats, i will put in new carpet as well. the suede is auto grade UV treated. ill get some more pics up soon. these were just progress shots and not meant to be "job complete"

i made a shift boot as well. no im not trying to make it look like a manual. i think it looks cleaner and more pleasing to the eye, many newer high end cars have gone to a boot for auto tranny. my shifter leather was torn so this is a temp cheap fix but isnt bad, i wish i could find a new OEM type S shifter in mint condition.

I really like the headliner, good job. How hard was the job and where did you end up getting the material?

www.yourautotrim.com i found them from another forum where a few ppl had good results. The headliner/pillars were the easiest. Only parts where major stretching had to be done to get a nice clean look did it get tough like around the sides of the dash where it actually wraps under and onto the front near the steering column. and like anything, the second indentical part was easier from learned mistakes on the first, for example the sunvisors. i added extra padding on the center console arm rest as well. the shift boot took a while to make due to the fact its rectangular and the shifter will always be in the upper half portion (it wont stretch to make it into lower gear) that gave it a clean look without excess material bunched up. i used 3m super90 adhesive spray from lowes. for everything i did, i used 4.5 cans,

Looks sweet. I saw your car at the last C&C in Charlotte, just didn't see you around. I may look into that link you posted, I'd love to something with the interior of mine.

was it the white one? If so, it was filthy.

BTW, how much material did you end up using for the whole interior?
