i almost thought you got the centers of your wheels powdercoated gunmetal, but then i realized their just dirty as hell. i hope you are buying distorted a ton of brew. but then again he is using your car as the test, so when he does his own it will be better. either way, it's looking perfecto.

i know! these small projects have been owning me. then stupid shit happens like the innovative side mount issue that proceeds to further prolong the projects.

the rear brings up an issue of exhaust. the stock exhaust will not work the way it sits. need to either extend the oem tips, weld on new tips or go with after market.

imo, i like how the 335 and the is350 exhaust fits in the bumper. it covers up most of the muffler's can so you only see the tips....

i was thinking of reconstructing the exhaust opening so it has a larger indent for the exhaust and it will help hide the muffler's body.

so far the only tips i found that i liked were the ones i put on my car, my only reason for not recommending them is that they say borla on them, and i'm not a fan of that, but they were the only good ones to put on the mufflers that weren't plain and round =\

that's the exact problem i'm running into searching. everything is crap except for high end tips like porche, etc that are $600 a pair. i also have checked out the borla tips. nice quality just the name engraving. i just don't want a clip on and something rolled or thick would be nice.
maybe y'all can help me pick some out.

my borlas are welded on... maybe weld it on upside down so the engraving is underneath?

yea, they are, i forgot.

but if he gets them custom mounted, i'm sure the exhaust shop can make sure the 'borla' is hidden underneath the bumper lip. i dont see any reason the tip has to extend beyond the bumper.

to be honest, the borla doesnt bother me at all. you can hardly see it and its not even painted on its actually just part of the finish on the stainless.

im still debating modifying the stock exhaust to work or getting tips like jeremy.

i really love the look of the OEM exhaust on the CL, but using those tips would make life wayyy easier.

on a side note: does anyone with 01 CLS mufflers want 03 CLS cans with the rolled/thick tips. i am willing to trade + cash if so.

i agree i like the looks of the oem tips as well, but aftermarket like jeremy's is pretty damn nice. i rather have these than my magnaflows.

i say just get tips or new exhaust.

i contacted stromung about exhaust after seeing and hearing the TL-S exhaust they are selling on that side of the forum. stromung claims no knowledge of this exhaust system and will not sell me cans. so that idea went out the window.
i am probably going to get some kind of tips and go that way. save me some cash anyway because uncle sam decided not to warn me that i was going to need tons of lube this tax season.
