some questions..

does this whole tranny problem happen to every 01 cl-s?

what are the chances it will happen to mine? (im at about 44,500 miles)

and what exactly happens when it goes out?

It happens to about 5% of 2nd Gen owners. Don't worry about it. Welcome to the forum. dshearon is right though, hide your wallet if you're gonna hang around here!

 

Nice car.

Don't worry about the tranny - only 5% of them will break down - and if they do, you have extended warranty from Acura until 100,000 miles.

Performance wise you should look into an intake (Comptech Icebox or AEM CAI) for ~10whp and then headers (Comptech's are the best / Alphawerks are 2nd best) for a ~30whp total. That will get you running mid/low 14s at 97-99mph or so, depending on how well you hook up.

An exhaust won't do anything unless you get a supercharger/turbo. You may wish to lower it on springs/shocks!

im getting my windows tinted hopefully this week. i asked a local shop they were like 190, im just like "eh". so the guy says we can make a deal if i come in this week, im aiming for 150. i'll prolly go with 15% tints...

after that im gonna get some black rims and lower my ride a little.

THEN i'll go under the hood with headers and intake...

My friend used to work there! He is now tinting at my friends Shop close to Bailey's crossroads area. The Shop is called Sonic Sound. California Tint is great tho!

 

How much are they charging you for the tint job?

 

ummm, the guy was like 190 but then he said we could make a deal, so i was thinking maybe i'd get em around 150/160 range.

so when i go back to get the tints i guess i'll know, hopefully i get them for 150.

 

i got rid of my cl-s because of the tranny problems, it was on its third when i traded it in for my 05 rsx-s and the cl-s is expensive to mod.
but i loved my cl-s while i had it i looked for a manual cl-s but they were too hard to find. but good luck if you plan on modding it
