Thanks for the compliment

All the pictures were taken downtown in Salt Lake City. The bridge is located right next to where I work, so I frequent that spot each time I'm in the mood to do a car shoot. It was foggy last night, and I was hoping to get some really cool shots, but by the time I dragged myself out there, the fog had lifted.

What business are you in? Next time you're in Utah, and would like a runaround of the town, feel free to hit me up.

I'm in the IT field for a company call Vtech (not Vtec). Last year we had an industry UCC council at Salt Lake City in that nice hotel that was build for the Olympics. Now, our company is also getting into the Wireless 802.11 business, therefore we are setting up a call center there as well. Btw, looking at your sig. do you have a M3?

Sweeet! You must've stayed at the Grand America. It's the finest hotel accomadations located in Salt Lake (5 stars I believe). Your company must REALLY take care of you I attended a Macromedia seminar there, and the setup is fairly eccentric.... not to that of MTV cribs... but still nice nonetheless

The name used in my sig was going to be the personalized plates for my '99 estoril. But unfortunately I parted with her and never had the chance to use it. I'm actually back in the market for another M3 (4dr this time). I really like the E46 M3's but that's a little too deep for my pockets :P ... and the E36 just suits my style more

Here is another pic of the same bridge and my estoril: (I think you have to be signed in to view it... it's linked to this site)

BTW, just noticed that you live in Portland. That's where I'm originally from, prior to relocating here in Salt Lake. I should really visit OR again sometime :P

Thanks for all the feedback guys! My car doesn't really have all that much done to it... so I sorta have to make up for the lack of eye candy, by making the best of my photo's

I'm glad a few of you guys enjoy the pix... I've got them in 4256x2848 if anyone is interested in a larger higher quality pic.

For all those interested in the technical details...

Since I was alone, the tunnel pic was photoshopped to provide the feeling of movement. The camera used for the CLS pix was a Fuji Finepix S2 Pro Digital SLR. The pic of the M3 was taken using a Nikon 995 (the lens of this camera is unreal... damn I miss that thing).

Mr.Big... yeah, even with panning it's difficult to capture motion so sharply.

I'll post newer pix in here every so often... I recently broke up with my g/f... so I have TONS of spare time to work on my photography

hey I noticed in your sig you had tokico illuminas with h&R's. I have the same springs as you and was also thinking about getting illuminas. I was wondering how that combo. rides?

The ride is just barely a little stiffer than stock with the springs and shocks set at 3 (front) and 4 (rear). Of course you can adjust those settings to whatever your preference may be. With the rear shocks not being very easily accessible... it really takes away from the convenience of adjustability... so make sure you take it for a spin to make sure that you're satisfied with the ride prior to putting the rear interior all back in place.

Good luck with the upgrade, lates.

Nice pics

I was messing around w/ my digi cam the other night (Canon ES210) changing the shutter speed and what not. You'll have to excuse me, cause I'm not particullarly knowledgable in lingo, but is that how you did your night time pics.

I also noticed that a tripod is absolutely necessary if you want a nice shot. Any recommendations? I'm looking for a table top type for my little camera. Nothing too fancy.

Chikai, I love canon digital camera's! Their color reproduction is sweet! Even in low light conditions

You're correct, it's a definite necessity to have a tripod available if you plan to take evening/night pictures. Depending on your ISO/ASA settings... that will determine how long your shutter speed should be set open for. My pictures we taken at an ISO of 100 and the shutter speeds were anywhere between 10-30 seconds. Geez, i wish I had a more efficient lens

My suggestion would be to pick up both! The table top and a standard tri-pod. Hell, the one I'm using only costed about $50 bones. :P

chikai, yes, adjusting the shutter so it's open longer allows you to take in more light so night pics will look good. You can also adjust the aperture size to increase or decrease the amount of light. Some pics look pretty cool with the aperture completely open because the only thing in focus is the car, but the background gets blury. It's kinda like a car portrait.

foRRREVerz, i love that bridge shot. The bridge design and all the blue lighting really make a good background. That tunnel shot is cool too, I need to figure out how to do that in PS.

Sup Broman, looks like you're kinda in my area. Check out this thread, Dallas Area Meets. Don't bother reading it all, just drop in there and say hi to all the DFW area guys. We don't have a meet planned right now, but when we do the info will be in that thread, if you're interested in ever coming to a meet.

foRRREVerz, sorry about the little hijack.
