Body kit test fit

Just a test fit, will all go in for paint sometime next week.

Versus sides, versus rear (not pictured) and 03 TL-S front lip. I didnt screw or tape them on as i was just testing how they fit.

I think it looks cool with two-tone im gonna keep it this way!

just a note, the front, make sure the sides of the front flow with the bumper vertically, unless you already had that in mind.

something looks off about the front lip. the sides by the wheel wells are dipping in bigtime....is it like that on the TL? and it looks like its frowning or something. you should see if the body shop can straighten it out and have it molded on before it gets painted

No it looks like that because its sagging, i did not screw it down at all, just hanging there. This is the same lip on the previous car..

i disagree 100%. it will be noticable! i think it looks too busy with the vents on the front because of the 03 fairings. it only looks ok on silverbullit's car cause he was running the roadlamps, so there was only one set of vents. with your application you would have 4 vents on the front of the car

have them filled!

sadly no, been working on my current project... i like to finish one thing before i start the next...

but i said that because i asked someone who did do the tl lip kit... asked him for advice about molding the side skirts (rj side skirt at that time) he said due to body roll it may crack....

and my friend's brother did get a side skirt molded on by a shop. 3 months later it started cracking...

they are just stories.. but i would like to stay on the safe side... then again i'm not an expert..

if you mold/glue the side skirts to the existing side skirts there should not be any issues. where you run into trouble is when you mold the skirts to the existing side skirts and body (RJ kit and like your VS kit where it climbs onto the body). the body is made to flex separately and thus that joint is like an expansion joint. imagine filling the gaps where your bumper meets the body. if you bend the bumper the body will not bend and the gap will reopen. i'm not an expert either but this is just applying my construction knowledge to body work.

That blue is completely off. Way too light compared to the body. I don't like it.

i also noticed that and that it's molded but they didn't paint the entire bumpers. i'd be on the paint shop's ass for something like that.

wonder what the rear looks like from dead center with the lip not forming to the exhaust.

I must be the only one who's not a fan of body kits, esp. on the CL. Reminds me too much of the old Chevrolet Beretta GTZ's from back in the day

Not quite THAT bad, but you get what I mean.

call me crazy, but I alwasy thought the TL kit (02-03) on the CL looks a little un-natural. Especially the sides and rear. The front just cuts into the chin of the CL too slanted.

Thanks for all the input. We shall all see how this looks later next week. Molding and possibly filling front lip vents are both a possibility. Going to have myself a unique ABP
