cool thanks for the link to the thread. Now that i've seen the pics, i have noticed not every brand is the same. By that i mean some brands produce a better blue color than other brands when it comes to 8000k or 10000k. What is the best brand out there. The bluest?

yah go to queens you will see maaaaad nice lights. everytime i go to my cousins house it seems half the cars on the highway have deep blues or purples.
I have the kaixen 8000k and they give an alright color and appear very bright (i get flashed constantly). But i am more of a fan of color over brightness and im trying to get the bluest i can possibly get. Still havent found anything that satisfies what im looking for, so all i can tell you is go for the 8000k kaixen bulbs from EXCELERATE for the time being they will do the job. 12000k gives a purplish hue. also looks real good but not as much my taste as the blue

So you'd rather have a "cool color" than be able to see real well?

actually i can see perfectly. i guess the whole brightness "fact" is just a technical issue because my kaizen 8500k bulbs give me 10 times more brightness than i need and i get flashed constantly to that effect. when i get in my moms car that has normal halogen headlights its like a culture shock to me it seems as if there are 2 flashlights strapped to the front of the car. so yes i can see fine, it seems like a weird statement to allude that i "cant see well" ANY car with HIDs can obviously see well. The far majority of cars on the road are halogen bulbs and they seem to get along fine, much more an HID bulb.

I'll be honest, I get highbeamed more with my 8000k hids in than when I had OEM 4300k. It's kind of annoying because less lumans are being put out yet people think it's brighter?!

Just because your getting highbeams and annoying other drivers doesn't mean your lights are bright or than your getting the best light output

It simply means your lights are probably not properly aimed and your an incosiderate driver who annoys other drivers with their lights. I can take a peice of crap car with crap head lights and aim them in your face and people will flash you for it but doesn't mean the lights are any brighter

the reason being is the fact that your aftermarket lights have a lot more glare due to the fact that they are probably missing the ceramic coating over part of the bulb.

OEM

AFTERMARKET

notice the second one is missing the shield. thus it is classified as a D2S. the bulbs you guys are using for your "upgrade" are essentially designed for a HID setup using projectors. which wouldnt need the shielding like our OEM's do to reduce glare.

Hehee...nope. Actually the aftermarket one I have is exactly like OEM specs...I wouldn't use the other one since it's made for projector...D2R is the way to go. Funny thing is I have my lights pointed at a good distance but not pointed into someone's reariew mirror. I can be about 50 feet away and I'll start to notice it is pointing directly at the person's bumper in front of me (Most 4 doors or coupes with stock suspension).
