lookin' tight g

that is lookin' real slick. i got the same car black and was wonderin', u take the nightshade stuff and spray it on the outside of the taillight (2 coats), then what glossy enamel did u use on the 3rd coat, and then u did one more coat of night shade all directly on the outside housing right? just wanna make sure before i hit it up.

How many applications of Nite Shades did you use, 1 or multiple?

I put four LIGHT coats of it on, followed by 2 coats of glossy clear enamal spary to keep it protected from getting scratched or chipped....I think it turned out pretty well, but not as glossy as I would have hoped.

Would just like to clear this up before I attempt, tint is applied to the outside of the tails correct?

Yes. Either as a film, or as spray.

it took about 1 hour to install both sides. no bubbling or scratching. you need a hairdryer, squeege the film on and trim the edges w/an exacto knife...if not, there's extra film you have to tuck in between the body and light housing.

mine are almost perfect; just a few minor wrinkles. given the learning curve, if i did it again, it would be perfect.

well worth the $48 and my time...

To get the glossy look all you have to do is wetsand the tails with some 2000 grit sandpaper and then buff to a shine with some 3M rubbing compound. I used VHT Niteshades on my '00 TL tails, then sanded and buffed and they came out great:

i believe the instructions given to me for the tint film was to wax them whenever you wax your car.

Depends on the hardware store. I got mine at a local Auto Zone. Pretty much anywhere that carries auto care products should have it, maybe even Pep Boys.
