Instructions on how to change back to the old Navi verison 2.11C to 2.05B
took me about 5 minutes to figure this out, i know everyone says it's not possible to go back to 2.05B after you upgrade the system, but you can and i just figured it out
1) place 2.05B into the drive and close the door
2) look behind NAvi drive for the 2 pin connector that connects to nothing
3) short the connector by placing a paper clip or using the Honda test connector tool
4) turn on the car, Navi system will already be in Diag mode which you normally get to by pressing Menu, Map/Guide, Cancel
5) go into the force download menu
6) Navi will automotically reset, and your old system will be back

I never used the 2.05B version so I cant comment on it, but i'm happy with the 2.11C.

The better way to go backwards in versions is to use the hidden menu and then select the force download option. Shorting out the pins on the diag port doesn't sound too healthy.

That site is for the OLDER Navi units. And you have to be booted to use that feature.
So do you boot the NEW navi, hit those keys, swap discs and then try force download. because YOU CANNOT boot the old disc with the firmware that gets loaded from the new sofware.
have you personally swapped discs and tested it yourself... sounds like your shooting from the hip.

Here are the detailed instructions...
step 1, screw yourself and your lack of faith - sounds like you are shooting from the hip to try to poke at someone offering help for others
step 2, visit my web site again because it has info on disk and dvd based systems
step 3, key on, insert the older disc, system pops up with warning about the older disc, turn key off, turn key on, press hidden menu buttons as the system comes up
note that a dvd unit doesn't boot from the dvd disc but it certainly is one of the first things it goes and reads as it boots up.

You were VERY vague... If you intended on helping others detailed insturctions would have been nice. You just said, "BAH, this is a better way". I just asked if you tested it personally...
If you had a clue about 2 pins you'd know it just erases the flash memory on the unit. So it's not very risky, albeit a pain in the ass. Especially if your method works... I know others have tried it without success... might be their methods.
b.t.w. you still didn't answer if you tested it personally...
