DYNO'ed (finally) BlueCLS6's Turbo CLS

Well I finally took my car to get it dynoed (and tuned). Today it made 374whp/345wTQ in full street trim (91 octane (yuk) / full exhaust including cat). This was at 7psi. I am satisfied with the results. I will post graphs when I get home from work today. The A/F ratio was smoothed out and some pinging eliminated; the car runs great now. I thought I would just get a good tune on it and leave it alone, but now I want MORE! Among my thoughts are:

- electric cut-out in front of cat (good for as much as 30whp alone!)
- water injection (allow for more timing)
- some sort of intercooler mister (we had to keep spraying the IC to keep the temps low)
- turbo heat sheild (need lower intake temps!)
- Comptech Clutch/Flywheel (had some clutch slippage on the dyno)

I don't know, you always want more! Anyway those are my results... discuss!

That's my problem, I don't have time (work 2-jobs 75hrs/wk.). But as a result I have some money. But it still takes me a while to get anything done (like the dyno that took 1 year We'll see... this definitely generated some projects for me to work on! PLUS once the car is paid off (~2 months) I'll have extra income for them...

Here ya go:

I hope that's big enough. That stupid huge dip after 3800 is due to the IMRC switching over. Not sure how to eliminate or correct that phenomenon... possibly putting in an RPM switch and play with when that thing switches over.

Nice!! Finally you made it... over a year later!!!!!!!

How'd you get 7psi though?!? Did you change the spring...? I had a tad over 6psi on my pass. Also, what were the AFR's?

Keep in mind that on a turbocharged and FMIC'd car... actualy air movement at 70mph is like an additional 2%-4% whp - so I am sure on a moving vehicle you are at or over 400whp. Hmm... now makes me want to go raise the bar a bit; all you guys are so damn close

Congrats on the dyno results. With 305/262 WHP/TQ on my CLS 6sp and sticky tires, I get a lot of torque-steer. I can't imagine what your must be like. I don't remember reading if you ever fixed your slipping clutch problem or not?

Unfortunateley at these power levels the stock clutch will slip... mine does too at times - just need to go easy on it. In any case a slipping clutch is better than a busted tranny

Y'know as long as it's pointed in a straight line it's fine, but if the wheel is turned slightly AT ALL you better hold on . It doesn't pull the wheel out of you hand necessarily (like a Saab Viggen) but becomes very stiff and difficult to steer. I have not fixed the clutch slip yet. This time it did it fully engaged on a dyno run (4th gear) so I better take it easy between shifts. My intent is to have the Comptech clutch/flywheel unit installed by Acura when I remove the turbo kit early next year to have it smogged. I don't feel like doing that install myself! Or maybe I should... how much is the install??

Nice numbers Blue

Interesting about what you say about the IMRC, I figured you Turbo guys disconnected it like the S/C guys do ?

The very first run showed 6.8psi... the very last run was up around 7.0-7.1psi. I'll post that graph... AFR's were 11.8-12.0 I believe from 5ooorpm+.

Yeah I remember some discussion on this a while back. Do you remember the results of the talks? I thought it was best to leave it operating but from my results I'm not so sure. I am kicking myself now for not thinking about doing a run with it always closed, and a run with it always open. That is a HUGE torque dip and a lot less area under the curve. I should go back and run it with the valve always closed. Didn't someone do this...??

Here is the boost graph. I have no idea why the difference between the two cars... same spring. The green line is the last run without the AFR thingy plugging up the exhaust.

AFR's ramp down to 11.8-12.0.

Basically the same kit that Ram is running except he has a 2.5 inch downpipe, no additional injector, no electronic cutout(i think thats the only differences)....and the turbo is a Garrett GT35R.

what's the deal with the huge dip in between 3900 and 4900 rpms? THat seems to show up on almost all CLS dyno's, and even on some J30 w/ CLS cam dyno's. Something to do with cam profile?

nive numbers btw. No need to pout. Allmotor's 419 whp was w/ exhasut cutout, and you are on stock exhasut, so no chance you'll make that much. :P
