Zanio EXPERT question......

As some of you may know, I am waiting for delivery of my 2003 MDX. They gave me the "care" package where they condition the interior, roofe lining, seal the paint etc....Can I put ZAINO directly on top of the stuff they will put on the paint as a sealant ? Or do I strip it off etc......I didn't ask for this, they GAVE it to me with two "Car Care Kits" provided by Acura etc........
Should I wait a couple of weeks before waxing/washing it etc.......or is she ready for layers of ZAINO ???????

Your assistance is greatly appreciated !

The Dawn pre-wash will strip that stuff off anyways. I don't know enough about the coating Acura puts on to suggest whether or not you should wait on Zaino.

Dawn will not strip off the dealer sealant. It is pretty much baked into the paint. I don't know about waxing on top of it, but I do know that they didn't give it to you. You payed for it one way or another.

Correct-amundo!

You can use some sort of Paint Prep (like this from Griot's or from another source) to strip 'stripable' products. Whether the Acura sealant is stripable or not, I don't know.

As long as you follow the steps and do the dawn pre-wash, it's pretty much inconsequential what happens to the dealer "sealant." (that is, if what they call "sealant" is anything other than a wash)

I forget what exactly ACURA calls it but I have a freind who used to prep vehicles with it at a body shop. It is actually a heated teflon spray that is applied to the vehicle and it actually bonds with the paint. I didn't get it because if you ever have an accident there is a chance that the bodyshop won't be able to get the new paint to stick to any parts where this has been applied.
