Are you using protection?

So how are you guys protecting your cars from theft? So far, I haven't read a single post about alarm systems. Anybody know of some really good alarm systems out there? For those with some expensive wheels. How are you protecting those? Cuz where I live, wheels locks don't do shit.

Get LoJack and Shock Sensor Alarm, this is probably the most you could do to prevent theft.... Also try to park in safe spots

I think LoJack is a waste of money. They never find ur car in time, i know 2 people that had LoJack and by the time the cops found it, it was in pieces already. They both wish they wouldnt have found the car.... Everyone tells me never ever get lojack unless u hook up a pager to ur alarm so as soon as someone gets into ur car u can call the cops to track the car down right away.

I disagree, LoJack is usefull. Usually car is found within 2-3 hours with LoJack. And usually car is found eventually with or without loJack. LoJack minimizes the time, and chanes are less that damage is done.

u can try putting more than one wheel lock on each wheel, will take longer to steal.... but wheel lock can be taken easily with the special equipment.... it just takes longer, and that's what you want....

you won't get your wheels stolen.

they'll take the first one off, look at it, and say, "Shit, these are only 7" wide! we'll never be able to sell these! especially 'cuz they're all scratched up too!!"

Good Shock sensor alarm, club, and loJack is realy the most u can do.
Unless u buy garage.

I've only got loJack, i mostly try to park my car in good areas.

The best thing is to park car in good areas, and if u go to down town, dont be cheap, pay money for a designated parking place instead of looking for FREE parking in some dark sh*ty areas.

True, the LoJack is "useful". However, I'll give you an example of where someone would probably NOT want one...

If you live in California (or other “Border” regions and states), and leave the car "un-garaged", you might not even know the car is gone until 8 or more hours later! By then, the car could already be across the border in pieces.

IMO -- It "should" be the perfect device for a car jacking *or* other situations where the owner can report the theft immediately (or with a very small time lag). It doesn't take thieves very long to strip out the goodies they want...

well, everything is possible. But LoJack does not hurt. I usually know where my car is ever 2-3 hours, excepts when I am asleep or at work.

bottom line is that car is often found with or without LoJack.... When car has no LoJack there are more chances that it will take longer to find it, and if it takes longer to find it, the car will be deterioarated even worse with longer time.
If they put it in chop-shop, and disassemble it before police find it with or without loJack - its gone!

Fuck that.
If they steal my car I hope they never recover it. Really do u want ur car back after some monkey jacked it from u and drove it "LIKE HE STOLE IT". I spend alittle more on auto insurance but if they steal my car I get a new one; - the deductable.
So to cut it short, if they take it let em keep it, ur insured...right?

You are mistaken like most of the people. Acording to statistics, most of the cars are found eventually regardless of LoJack.
LoJack gives better chance of finding it quickly before a lot of damage is done.

If you think that your car will never be found when its stolen because you dont have LoJack, you are mistaken big time !!!
Go read some statistics

i put a tilt sensor on my viper alarm. so if a thief jacks up your car to steal the rims the alarm will go off. i also added a pager system so when my alarm does go off i will know even if i cant here or see it. you may also want to add air horns to the alarm so it is loud and annoying. i cant imagine trying to steal rims while there is an air horn blasting. you may also want to get the seperate power supply for the alarm so if the theif does cut the power your alarm will still work. all availible from DEI
