How much are the shipping charges from autocarparts.com? These prices are not that much cheaper, if at all, from the ones they have posted, but I don't know about their shipping. If it's not that much more it probably isn't worth the headache.

All I can say is you get what you pay for. I know of a large number of people on the TL board who have purchased from other vendors just to save a few bucks and got screwed. Wrong parts, long delays...well you get the picture. I have purchased all the Comptech parts you see in my signature from Tim and everything has been perfect. The man will bend over backwards to make it right.

So the next time you order something from an "approved vendor" and a month later you're wondering why your order is still in transit, or you receive it only to find parts missing, broken, for a different model car, remember Tim.

I am not saying you have to buy from Tim at http://www.autocarparts.com, but here are a few thread from the TL board praising his customer service. And go figure, one was started by your fearless leader.

Since these sales will be going through me, I will make sure everybody knows exactly when they will be receiving their parts. I will buy the parts with my money if I have to and make sure they go out to the customer. Tim is running a great business, but if we can get better prices, with reliable customer service.. I don't see what the problem would be.

You are incorrect. You did not add the shipping charges that autocarparts.com adds. I did the math. You would save $178 if you bought all the parts through the person I know. Maybe $178 does not sound like much to you, but considering the fact that a lot of people are in a tight bind, that extra $178 can be put towards something else.

Not trying to rain on the parade or anything, but is this wholesaler guy an authorized CompTech dealer? I've heard that CompTech will not honor the warranty if the headers aren't purchased from an authorized dealer.

Some of the people that do these group buys are just out to make a quick buck, so if their is a problem you are basically SOL.

I just don't want to see anyone get taken like one of the infamous AEM CAI intake group buys that happened awhile back where 30 something people got took for around $170 a piece.

 

How about the cl-s owner in cananda? shipping free as well?
i will get the exhuast or sway for sure if the shipping is free

Your 3.0 uses the same header as the 3.2 (Type S or not).

 

Nope...different part I believe. They have a specific one just for the 1st gens from 97-99 3.0 CL's.
