yet another v1 ?...

I was wondering what mode you guys leave your v1 in, All Bogeys, Logic and Advanced Logic.

Please poll your thoughts, and leave suggestions here.

I just hard wired my system into my car, I probably will take pictures within a week or so, my sister is using the digicam up in san francisco right now...

The v1 I have to say kicksass, thanks to Shawn S for your pictures and somewhat walkthrough, got stuck when I tried to install the concealed display..

Also, how do you mount it? I dont want to use the velcro that comes with it, it raises it hella high too, looks awkward. I am thinking of some double sided tape? if I go velcro, I would want to mount it in the back of the display, prob just to the left of the temp rate knob...For now, it just lays on top of the steering wheel shelf behind the wheel...

Looking good, and I already caught two cops on 12/26

Have a good break everyone.

Nick

I'm in "L" mode. There's a lot of sources of false alarms in my area. When I hit the back roads or rural highways, I switch it over to "A" and do all the false alarm filtering myself.

Full Logic in the city.

All Bogies on the highway.

The "velcro-like" pieces that came with the concealed unit blow. I went to Home Depot and bought some MUCH better "velcro" pieces. Double-sided tape isn't a good solution IMHO. Velcro is your best bet.

I leave mine in All bogies all the time. Just mute it when you are in the city.

Man, I need to get myself one of these things and hardwire it as well. My only concern is that I have metallic tint on the sides and rear.

The V1 false way too much in any other mode (around here) except in Big "L" mode.

When I first came to Kansas 4 years ago, it was rather "rural" and there weren't many sources of false alarms and many people didn't have radar detectors.

Now with all the buildout and new construction, there's false alarms everywhere, every new building has an automatic door opener, places where I used to get "1" are now up to "3" or "4" and I have "X" band completely shut off, these are all "K" band false alerts. Also people are starting to get radar detectors and it is setting off my V1, it is so annoying when they follow you (V1 has good rear detection).

But what really has set me off is false Ka alerts. Something must be wrong with my detector. Cause I get about 2 false Ka alerts every week. Not this one or two brapbraps, but full blown Ka. And it's not a cop cause in wide-open Kansas, a cop using [short-range] Ka can't hide.

V1 is starting to annoy me with the false alarms (it's bad enough with the false Envoy laser).

Yea, my fiance Cindy has one of those detectors in her TL-S, so sometimes my V1 becomes a Cindy detector. :P

It stays in L mode in KY, l or a when I'm travelling out of state.

I use Advanced Logic otherwise know as “Big L”.
If I’m on the Interstates for an extended time I switch over to “A” because there are less opportunities for false alarms.

As for mounting the remote display, I use blue poster putty.
You know the stuff you rip off into little balls?
One tiny drop in each of the four corners keeps it in place.
If needed it can be easily removed with no damage to the surface underneath.
