Yet, another roadlamp mod question...
ok, i know there are tons of threads on roadlamps.... and trust me, ive seen them all.... from people installing their own foglights to people modifying to hid roadlamps....
but i came across this on Ebay... and this seems to plug into the regular 194/168 wedge bulb slot? its h3... 100w drawn from 12v.... any ideas on the melting situation?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/_Car-...=p4506.c0.m245
im trying to get them to be brighter without much modification and headache... i dont care if they give me good "viewing results" or they "blind people" (which i highly doubt).... i just want them to be brighter then the stupid original roadlamps..i currently have piaa xtreme yellows in there with the yellow japanese spray tint...and they look ugly compared to this TL (2003) that pulled up next to me with his neon yellow (much brighter then mine) roadlamps/fogs....
i hope someones tried these..they look like theyll work?

Hmm, to be honest, I'm not really sure if they will plug right in. But seeing the link you posted as H3 bulbs, probably not.
I mean, you could always try those 5-way 194 LED bulbs. Those things are pretty bright.

i havnt tried those... but i tried something similar from superbrightleds.com ... they were 9 led bulbs but they pointed straight....i guess these are different because they point all directions..but im afraid that theyll also just show up as a bright dot....

uh , the one enycesam posted should be bright, but keep in mind you'll get a dot because thats the center. that one enycesam posted should be bright to the point where ur roadlamps look likes its filled. i think...

The H3 bulbs will melt the original housings. Anything over 15-20 watts will turn the foil inside the roadlamps into goo. I tried alot of different bulbs before I finally settled with the 5-way LEDs. They don't put out any light thats worth anything but they do fill up the housings really well. If you just want to fill the housings, the 5-way LED is the way to go. If you want something that'll put decent light out on the road, aftermarket fogs/projectors.

wow thats pretty nice... i just hope those lights arent just looking good on photos only and that it looks like that in person... i have my lights tinted yellow, so im just using those leds to enhance the brightness a bit more instead of using the piaa extreeme yellow bulbs (which turns it into a golden yellow)

yea i figured they do that to get hits.... i was just desperate in swapping out the small bulbs for something a bit more brighter and fills up the housing..but i guess those 5leds seem like it works nice... im going to see if i can find that in yellow

The thing is... they're 5-watt bulbs... whether they're LEDs or not, they're still 5 watts. They're the brightness of your map lights inside (same bulbs)... They're useless for putting light out...
