will 18X8.5 rims fit? what does the offset need to be. I know the tires are gunna be 225/40/18..any idea what offset it has to be to work?

If you're set on 225 series tires, I would not get 8.5" rims. That's borderline for a wheel that wide. I run 225/40 18s on 8" rims and the sidewall is flush with the rim. I would try to go with 8" wide rims if possible if your tire choice can't change.

Offset should be +49 or greater for 8" wide wheels.
