I'm picking up my new CL-S (arrest-me-red/parchment, sans navigation) at lunchtime tomorrow. Damn, it's gonna be tough to sleep tonight.

Despite all of the wailing and gnashing of teeth I've seen here about rattles, seat belts, sunroofs, bass response, lack of headroom, etc., I just couldn't find anything I liked better. The S4, S60 and 330i were mighty sweet, but just too expensive. The 300M was nice, but it's a Chrysler. The Lincoln LS was too big and ugly, while the Lexus GS might as well be a Buick. Let's see...have I left any out? Does it matter?

Permit me a moment of silence here as I prepare to bid farewell to my loyal and steadfast partner for the last 11 years, my much-beloved Accord Coupe. Exciting as your successor is, I'll still hate to see you go.

There's another red, a silver CL-P and a black CL-S tooling around town as well, but I believe only the red one (eric the red) is a board member.

Where are you in Frisco? I'm in Hillcrest Estates right now, but moving up to NW Frisco off of 720 over the weekend. We'll have to schedule some "wash and wax" nights at the Kwik Kar once it gets a little warmer.

On a side note, I've been dying to stomp that riced-up blue Neon with the fart pipe and clear tails that cruises around Frisco. That guy's just asking for a beatdown. And just yesterday a guy in a Maroon TL pulls out of the Target lot heading west on Warren. As soon as he saw me coming up he guns it and my wife says, "What the fuck? Is he trying to race you?" Needless to say, I ate his fucking lunch.

I have a red / parchment. Purchased last Nov. The only issue I have is I had to clean the leather seats this last week end. They get dirty fast, still cleaned up was easy. I'm out by dfw, only have seen two cl-s in town so far.

 

I took delivery a couple of hours ago, and it's even sweeter than I could have imagined. It's gonna take a while to adjust, though; the first time I glanced at the speedo after merging onto GBT at Coit I was doing 85!

Roughly $30000 out the door. I traded my 1990 Accord (low miles, sound mechanically but badly hail-battered) which was worth maybe $2000 wholesale plus $28000, including destination, TT&L and a set of wheel locks.

Arthur Dee. He was pretty agreeable and easy to work with, considering how far apart our initial offers were. No sleazy car salesman games or anything of the sort. All in all, a fairly pleasant experience. I'd heard some cautionary tales about McDavid, so I was a bit apprehensive going in.

 

Guess I'm the black CL-S running around town. Droideka and I met at the car was about a month back. We need to all meet soon.

Hey, glad you finally made it over! I'll be hitting the Kwik Car on Preston fairly regularly once it warms up. I like to do a complete detail during the week at night when there's no crowd. I usually get started around 9 and finish up by eleven. If anyone else is a night owl and interested in meeting up that late I'll let ya'll in Frisco know when I'm going.
