Accord V6 / Acura CL 98-03 ~6-2-1 RACE HEADERS~

Look for that title in the eBay Listing.

The XS Headers are sold buy www.ssautochrome.com. A lot of people know about the secret so don't bid up someone else as they are probably someone else on this forum. Wait and you will get them. I just got mine a couple of weeks ago and they are AMAZING. Instant pep added to the car for me. Others have had them on for a couple of years with no reported probs so hopefully we'll all be fine.

search either acura tl headers $250. Or search comptech style headers and i think they are $150. All prices are before shipping

There's been one case to my knowledge where there was a fitment issue. Other than that, these headers have been outstanding, especially for the money. You may be referring to their turbo systems.

I've had them and if I ever own another CL, you can bet I'll have them again.

The headers are right here bud... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Accor...51547735QQrdZ1

I hope you have a better buying experience with them then i do right now. BIG BIG headache when you're dealing with their "customer service" department. They sent me the wrong item and it's three weeks since i started the whole exchange process. They didn't return any of my e-mails for a 1.5 week period and they finally sent me an e-mail last night after i sent them some friendly notification of my drop of patients (<sp?) with them and some friendly legal threats.

I have a set of 2.5l v6 probe headers sitting in my room for the past 3 weeks now and i don't know when i'll be getting the correct set. I'm also worried about when i do send these off they'll just claim that they never received the set and then I'm out 180 (with cost of shipping back).

/rant over. I need advil.

That sucks. However it has been noted that their customer service is far less than perfect. It's a shame.

Just make sure you send them back with a tracking number (UPS is a good way). That way, you'll know when it gets there, and who signed for it, then there will be no way for them to claim they never recieved anything back from you.

I've had mine on since the summer and haven't had any problems. I'm quite happy with the purchase, and $150 is very reasonable for such a good outcome.

on ebay search "comptech headers" and the listing should come up as "COMPTECH STYLE ACCORD V6 3.0L RACE HEADERS CL 6 SPEED"

and there you have it

xs power also has their own ebay store if that's what you prefer

Thanks for the advice, i never thought about requesting a signature upon delivery from them. Hopefully, i'll get them by the 6th week after initial purchase , and then it'll be the last time i'm dealin with them.

Good headers though

headers

Don't mean to hi-jack the thread but sense its open I figure these are good questions.
I was wondering if you use the stock manifold bolts? Also do you use the same gaskets or buy OEM new ones?
Mine should be here tomorrow so just a few ?'s before install
Thanks
Nick

Yes, reuse the nuts for the headers, you can reuse the gasket for the top of the header too.

You DO NOT need to weld the headers. It's all BOLT ON.

EDIT: use this thread to help you out with questions

these headers arent really that bad? 30hp gain simalar to $1200 comptechs??? Any dynos???

Are any members experiencing any ugly vibration noises or any other examples why not to chooses these headers?

Might go with these too if it can be proven comparable to comptechs at 1/8 of the cost. I just dont want to regret it later going with cheaper inferior parts by saving a few bucks.

They've been dyno'd, look in the dyno section, and quite a few members have them including me. I'm very happy with them, and still think it's been the best $150 spent.

The XS headers come with gaskets and bolts, but i recommend you get some better quality bolts then what comes with the headers. I have mine on for 10months without any problems yet. I had my car dynoed with these headers...252/220

i have 2 issues when i bought mine.

1. a rattling sound. come to find out it is one of my exhausts. i thought it was the header because i installed it. drove it tightened everything up. didnt fix it. then i loosend it and retightened it. didnt fix it. then took it to a few shops and they said it was my left exhaust. it was weird because i had no rattling before the install. then the first time i started the car after the install there was a loud sound.

2. a minor vibration sound but it is very quite. its not the install. and i think it has something to do with how thin the headers are and maybe alittle of the exhaust issue. dont let this deter your purchuse. unless im paying attention i wont notice. its just me being picky.

if i had to choose agian i would buy it agian.

Guess I'll put my update in this thread since it's gained questions.....

I had my car completely inspected yesterday(front to back) by my local shop I go to. I'm driving the car to NYC then back to FL next month.
They looked over the XS headers & found not 1 problem with them, not 1 loose bolt, or leak.
And I used the bolts, & gaskets that came with the headers. I'm almost at the 1 year mark on mine & 7K miles. It appears wear is good, the heat is spread evenly, the flex pipe is still in new condition, & the welds seem to be holding up fine.
I'm very happy with my set.
Will they last? I don't know. Honestly at $160 I'd be suprised if I get 5+ years out of them, but I have a 2nd brand new set ready if they do die & still only 1/4 of the price of CT's invested.

Must be nice to have a second set lying around! haha!

But why the hell not you can buy about 8 sets for the price of one comptech!

To me it makes no fuckin sense why they jack there prices up! I understand good engineering isn't cheap but 1200 msrp for a set of headers is rediculous!

I dunno bout' you fuzzy but do you kinda laugh to yourself when you see on people on here spend that much money for the same gains? I do!
