search for the size of the new nuts and bolts. there are threads just dedicated to XS headers.
a new gasket is not that expensive.

Did you buy the headers from SSAUTOCHROME.com? Some people were saying they payed $150 on Ebay for them but you can buy directly from the site for $100 w/shipping.

my next question:

one header has a bend in the design on the header my question is which side does it go on the front side or the back side.

Back side. That bend is designed to get around the mount on 6-speeds.

Make sure to put some Liquid Wrench on the bolts where the stock manifold meets the exhaust a day or two before you swap them out and put more on when you start. I'd first remove the manifold from the block while you let the Liquid Wrench soak in. Then remove them from the exhaust pipe (leave the manifold bolts holding them to the block in just a bit to hold the weight from them while you unhook the lower stuff). When installing the headers, I'd bolt them up to the block first but just get the bolts in there a little, don't tighten them yet. Leaving them loose will make it easier to get everything hooked to the exhaust next. Hook it to the exhaust and then tighten them down after that. There really isn't much need for pictures. We're talking about just a couple bolts and nothing else. It's really fairly easy.

Many members here have had the XS for white a while with no problems either. If you search, you'll find a large XS owners thread with all kinds of comments on them.
