Xephyr CAI Dyno Update
Folks,
As I had promised I have received the data files and the appropriate viewer after contacting DynoJet Inc. directly today. They converted the .001, .002, .003, etc files to .djr files for their new windows based viewer to read them. This software is not available anywhere on the net, it came directly from Dynojet. The downside of the viewer is it does not allow plot maximum values but does plot to the graph as shown below. I made several runs and had 2 print out each of which I had posted, but now can show the other runs, the 2 contrasted side by side as Soopa requested with both starting in SS-3.
****************************
Below is the name, email address and a copy of the email sent today from my contact in DynoJet Inc. to verify the authenticity of the viewer and the data files:
****************************
Chris,
Unfortunately I can not set the graph to show max hp or torque. It will need to be changed on the original computer the runs were made on. I converted the runs and attached the viewer so you can see them.

Phil,
These are the six DynoJet runs I had called you about. I really would love to be able to view them in windows or the viewer you provide. I need to post the results for an induction system to a group of Acura-CL.com web board members. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much,
Sincerely,

Also, I am posting the links to the viewer and the data files I uploaded to my site so any members can run and see the results I am posting are genuine:

Thanks for the quick response on that one.
Doesn't look like too much of an increase though (except right at front)

Folks,
Keep in the operating temperatures in the Dyno chamber shown in the graph, and that there was not any great fan to simulate true air temperature or velocity during the run posted. It is a quite differnt plot with temperatures in the 30's as in the original testing. I do have to say that I am overall impressed with the accuracy of the GTECH PRO overall ! Not too bad for a $150 accelerometer But none the less the proof is in the pudding

Here is another way of looking at the Dyno to illustrate Stock/Stock/Xephyr CAI in the time domain to see the differences between run and a few degrees in temperature

Looks good...
I have to say... it doesnt look as impressive as the AEM.
But for a grassroots effort... and most importantly... the effort of one of our own. Im very impressed... and I think you deserve all of our cash!

hmm... then again. your numbers are pretty damn good...
why cant you get a more detailed chart? like one with a notch for each HP... rather then every 10 or whatever?
The AEM had a more detailed chart... maybe thats why the big ass curve looks so impressive.

What I am trying to illustrate here is that graphs are misleading in many ways, and more importantly can be made to show what you want the audience to see... Ever look at graphs the Dept. of Treasury does on our Governments spending habits? LOL and their dealing with Billions of Dollars ! The point I am really trying to drive home is that there really isnt any magic in a good free-flowing inductions system. Especially when mated to a V-AFC to maximize the increased air volumes and VTEC engament. AEM, Xephyr, Injen, Iceman.... We will all yield similar results plus or minus a few ponies on the right car under the right circumstances is a normal tolerence. I bear no hard feelings to any competitor, and if I wanted to show you results that would dazzle everyone I would have slammed the filter in a five gallon bucket of ice before the run I could show you +15 HP gain w/o any problem whatsoever. I listed detailed operating conditions, temperatures, names, sources, and raw files and even a viewer that is not available anywhere yet to prove a few of these points of interest. I do my best to address the issues of each of the members on this board in the fastest and best manner I am able to w/o millions in venture capitol to throw around. It's funny you mentioned "Grassroots" everyone starts somewhere, and I just want to remind everyone I started here, and did the leg work to get the product your members (as well as myself) wanted I wish everyone the best luck with whatever Vendor they choose, each has their own attributes, pro's and con's. As far as I am concerned, the buck starts and stops here. If I cause other vendors to break even one bead of sweat by nipping at their heels it wont be long before I get a bite. Folks I am here to stay, stay tuned for more.
Best wishes,
Christopher J Koncur

Last one I think
Well I have to have phillip from DynoJet convert dyno4.004 to dyno4.djr ... he didn't send that one today
This is to put everyones mind at rest regarding a possible torque loss...

Looks good to me!
Xephyr - we all appreciate your quick response and getting us the info that we wanted/requested to see. That says great things about you and that you stand behind your product. That is all we can ask for from you! The rest is up to us, the consumer, to make up our own mind.
Great job!

Many thanks I have to say Im loving reading all of your sigs and seeing more and more of my CAI in your sigs !! Also, I added the Dyno photo's at http://www.xephyrperformance.com/products7.htm and Dyno results http://www.xephyrperformance.com/products13.htm on the website. The Installation FAQ has moved since the last time I posted it to http://www.xephyrperformance.com/products8.htm I have received a few comments that members used it to help with other CAI installations as well so feel free
Soopa: How about immortalizing that Installation on the Howto or garage ?
