I don't see the big deal. Bumper guards are pretty much standard equipment in NYC.

You'd sport them too if you had to parallel park your car overnight on a street like that.

Exactly, I used to live in new york so i can understand why he/she did that. I think it look decent tho, not on that color. I wouldn't mind having slimmer strips put on my black cls. You probably couldn't tell unless you got up close. Furthermore, BMWs have them.

 

I work in NYC and sometimes wonder how people get there cars out of a spot, when one car is on your rear bumper and one car is on your front bumper

It does look terrible but there are a ton of cars in the City with those things on. They are trying to protect their bumpers because parking is hella tight in the City.
