WTF 30K service???

i just dropped my car off at the dealership for the 30 K service. i went to suburban acura and they told me it was 397 with 6% sales tax that turns out to be $420. F*CK
why is it so expensive?
what do they do besides change engine and trans fluid, rotate tires and air filter. i am so f*cked

if ur NOW asking what exactly it is they do AFTER dropping off ur car and paying for it then... well.... its not exactly wise

I've made that mistake myself in the past with other cars but i've learnt my lesson. Dealers are bastards and everyone knows (hopefully) thats they charge u arm and a leg for everything. Their actual services are worth about half what they charge, if not less.

Life would be unbelievably easier if u can find: a doctor, mechanic and a lawyer u can trust

You can't trust every doctor, but they are generally better than mechanics and lawyers.

Highest Acura 30K for the CL price I've come across is $579.99 + tax.

Dealerships are like the police. They are bastards until they are helping YOU out of some sh*t.

Not all dealers perform the same 30k. A friend with a TLS had their brake fluid changed, oil additive, fuel additive other 'preventive maintance' stuff, everything you could image inspected, with the 30k ...

A very complete service, but not cheap.

A basic 30k is oil & filter, tranny fluid change (3 quarts), tire rotation + balance, air filter, AC fitlers. Everything else depends on the dealer.

what a bunch of BS. You can do the ac filters yourself. Order the Micron filters here: http://www.ahmotor.com/product/catologe.html

About $25 and 30 minutes. Filters are behind the glovebox. Use the search to find directions.
