The listing says it's got a 2-cylinder engine... heh.

Impressive mileage nonetheless.

"Built ford tough" , i think honda should adopt that slogan because ford is unworthy and shitty.

At my pace, it'll take me 15 years to put that much mileage on my CL.

cmon guys... 121K shouldnt be considered that high for our cars - tho i do agree that that many in couple of yrs is high but wasnt buying this car for reliabity one of its major attraction?

i plan on keeping mine till ATLEAST 125k miles and as long as it lasts after that

My TL is one year older (00') and I've got 124,475 miles and same tranny. Just luck I guess. Mobil 1 in the engine and Honda ATF in the tranny changed every 25K. Engine has yet to use any oil at all between 5K changes. But that CL guy really drove alot!

I was just thinking about this. Say that guy got 300 miles off each tank of gas. And to fill the tank up costs about $25 bucks. THat means he spent $10,000 in gas since he bought that car. that's fucking insane.
BTW, car looks good. And if the tranny doesn't fail early then it is usually good forever. It isn't like they all just fail guys.

Well i hope he has one of those massaging vibrating chairs you get from brookstone or something. Sitting for 120k miles the extra feature would be the best investment in his car.

While he certainly spent a lot for gas, I dont think it was 10k. To get this mileage he had to drive highway, mostly highway. Some people here get as much as 430 per tank. So lets say he averaged 350. Also, price of gas varies its cheaper in the east, so if he always put in 93, that means an average price of about 1.40. At 17 gallons thats 23 bucks per fill up. He used 346 tanks. Grand total: $8K. Still a shitload of money, but 2k does make a difference.

The way I drive, I drop about 1200 on gas a year. So he did about 8 years worth of gas in 2 and a half years. Wow.

Idea

He could be a pizza delivery driver! :P A friend of mine put 50K in one year on his Mustang driving for Dominoes. I bet Honda will search this guy out and use him as a showcase for their reliabilty.
My coworker just had a guy deliver his pizza order in a Prowler, anything is possible...

Why are you guys getting so worked up over 120K? I have a civic on 125 and a CRX on 168 and they both drive like the day I got them. The only reason I replaced the CRX with the CL was I needed a nicer ride for work. Still drive the CRX on cool days (no ac) and the Civic will be the wifes car for a long time to go.

Now, 120K in 2 years, that is just plain insane. I hope you get paid a lot for a job that requires you to drive that much (sales?)

60 k miles in a year means that you have to drive some 200 miles a day!.... that is at least 3.5 hrs a day!...

I guess this guy was long distance comuter who had tp drive a 100 miles each way to go work,... use your CLS to get some groceries and you are making more than 200 miles a day.... damn it you have to fill up each other day... insane!

Is there 120 mile service? If so How much would that be? His engine bay sure is dusty. They definately should have cleaned that up before they took pics.

i'm on my 3rd timing belt(200,000 miles) (the factory one, then at 100,000 we redone it and at 180-190,000 we redid it again)
about every 100 grand you should get a new timing belt.

I drive about 25,000 miles in my car per year and about 5,000 in my mom's Odyssee and dad's Tundra. so I clock 30,000 miles a year.
about every 6-7 weeks I gotta get my oiled changed

Hell, I put about 36000 on this last year. I put a shitload of miles on and the "Honda" name was a major reason why I when with the cls. I hope I'm not let down.

I'd like to see how the engine and other components last in the 200K's+. I'll let you guys know concidering I'm planning on holding on to my cls until the wheels fall off...then I'll buy new wheels.

I've heard it's more like every 60K miles you need a new timing belt. The discussions point out there is no warning and it will leave you stranded when it does go.

well about the timing belt. it's every 100,000 cause dad works for Honda and they have a factory service center where Honda certified mechianics do work on the Honda workers cars(and they do Acuras too)(but nothing but Honda and Acuras) and he asked them and they said 90,000-100000 miles you should change em.

I don't run synthetic in my Accord and it's running fine. I run regular Mobil

I think it could go either way, It could have been more than 10K. Here are my numbers. First off when you fill up you don't fill 17 gallons. I usually only fill up 14-15 gallons when the light just comes on. Now Premium gas (91) here is 1.67 a gallon. I am usually getting 250 miles per 14-15 gallons on city driving and 300 miles per 14-15 gallons on highway driving. So lets just say I were to drive 120,000 miles
120,000/ ~275= 436 fill ups. lets say 14.5 gallons each fill up at 1.67 a gallon= $24.125

So $24.125*436=$10518

Now say he lived in NY where gas is $1.80 it would be more.

But then again he could drive like a grandpa and mainly highway and get 25 MPG, and he could live in Florida where Premium is $1.50. In which case he would have only spent $7200 bucks on gas.

Either way this guy spent more on gas or just as much as his car payment was.

Most likely he was getting high MPG, but this is a pointless discussion so i dont really wanna go further with it. Either way it fawking expensive for gas in just over two years. Later champ.
