Worth Racing Against...??

I personally dislike domestics. Expecially the mustangs. So is it possible for a '01 cl-s to compete with a '02 mustang roush 5spd? i mean, having the cl with a few modifications and etc. still not worth racing agaist huh?>

Just make sure you turn VSA off and you "should" be OK.

well it depends on what stage the roush is? the first stage is just like appearance mods........so just extra weight........the next stage adds some performance mods. I raced one at the track with my GTS, i ran a 15.2 to his 14.9..........so they are beatable, with the wrong driver.

If the planets are aligned and he does something like spin horribly, misses a shift badly, runs out of gas, etc., you could have a chance.

Driven even fairly compentently, he'll take you to the woodshed.

Roush stage 3 will smoke a CLS!

125 shot (wet) and you should have a decent race! Tanner on Acura TL site has a 99 TL-P with 125 shot. He ran a 13.9 with 19's on. So you might be able to pull low 13's with headers, intake, etc.

Some kid came up to me at school as I was getting out of my 2000 TL. It's lowered with body kit nothing special. He asks me if I want to race his car for money. He points over to a brand new Mustang Roush. I was like... "only if you give me 5 car lenths as a joke"
He was all serious and agreed, he wanted to race for 5 hundo!
I couldn't believe the nerves of this guy! I should have gotten NOS and raced this arrogant little kid teach him a lesson.

My poor little 15 sec car has no chance even against a Mustang GT! I dont even know why he wanted to race (probably cuz he was just trying to show off in front of all da fine lookin ladies in front of my dorm that day)

I told him " I have a friend who will smoke you in a SUV AND HE WILL GIVE YOU 2 CAR LENGTHS LEAD!" He looked at me like I was crazy! I gave him a smirk and he was pissed at this point. He wanted to race my friend for $2000!
(10 second AWD GMC Typhoon w/a T72 dual ball bearing Turbo and a $10000 custom race motor)

I cant wait to see the expression on his face when he loses $2000 dollars of his mommy and daddy's money

According to Roush's own website, it's 12.3@109. Hardly 11 unless he did even more work (like what?) to the car, or he ran a downhill 1/4 m. :P

Btw tanner ran a 13.9 with 70 shot of NOS (2000TL)! So imagine what 100+ shot could do for a type S. Very low 13's

100 shot = problems with your car eventually ( cant go trigger happy)

Well, if he's running the 360R, he would need mods of some sort to go 11s...

Running more boost (pulley) would be fairly easy to get there. DRs and full exhaust could get you there as well in the right conditions. I haven't seen any accounts of a bone stock Roush going 11s.

That 12.3@109 is a very efficient run (good ET for the trap), I'd like to see that car with mods trap 114-116 before I would be comfortable saying it was an 11 second car under typical/average track conditions.
