Wood grain interior accents...replacements? modifying?

So I'm looking to get my interior wood grain accents replaced. (The ones that run along side the center console and my door inserts). I know that the type-S's have silver inserts. I was wondering where online I could purchase OEM replacements that I could swap out for, and how much they would cost.

Or if it would be cheaper just to take it to a body shop/paint shop and have them paint them black, or silver instead?

Any input?

-Evan

only the 2003 CLs have the brushed aluminum trim along the front center console and on the doors(i'm not sure about the '03 CL-Ps).
you can buy those OEM(stock) trim parts from websites like www.oemacuraparts.com, www.acuraautomotiveparts.org and other variations.

I could be wrong, but last I checked you can't just buy the trim pieces in the door panel, you would have to replace the door panel

The trim is part of the door panel. The only way to get it without replacing the door panel is to drill out the plastic rivet that hold the trim in and find a way to get a hold of some 03 trim.

This is almost impossible to do though, so most people just wind up painting the stock pieces and reinstalling them.

So if I take it to a body shop or paint shop, will they be able to paint these pieces just black for me? I want this to be done right, and I dont think I could get the quality I want just painting them myself.

i was thinking the same thing. but i want a nice really glossy finish. maybe the color of my car or just black. imo, i think it'll make it look a lot better.

Isn't there a fake carbon fiber sheet material (and other colors and textures) that can conform (heat shrink?) to the old trim?
I'm assuming you have the parchment color interior, so is silver going to look alright? Matte black like the center console might look more stock than adding an additional color.

I'd consider selling mine. Check out out the price on them in the OEM website then get back at me if you want to kick around some offers. I have a project I'm thinking about.

i just painted mine with spray paint for plastic and it looks great. the center consol trim you can just pop off, but the door trim i had to tape everything off and spray paint it like that. you could just pop the whole door panel off but i was too lazy. ill take some pics of it when i can. its been 4 months and still looks great. my keys and other things bang and hit them from time to time, and still no scuffs or dents.

Yeah I don't really care for the woodgrain in mine. I'd love the black or carbonfiber look. One of the few things I don't like about the interior.

Does anyone happen to know what the part numbers are for the 03 TypeS center console trim?

I've also been thinking about painting the wood grain trim white to match my TW. I painted houses for three years so I'm assuming this should be an easy task for me right?
