Wiper question

Hey, so I've got a question about my wipers. They've been pretty streaky lately so I bought a new set today, but i've still got the same streaks that are in the same place. So what I'm wondering is if maybe there's something wrong with the wiper arms or something not putting enough pressure on my windshield? If anybody has ideas/solutions I'd love to hear them

i found that with the new wipers it misses the window at certain points... so i bought the regular metal cheepos and they hold to the window consistently all the time. but only the cheap ones work properly..

i tried the bosch ones and the rain x and one others and they all didn't work at the time... didn't try the armour all ones but who knows.

i say hell with it and buy cheeopos... they do the same thing for less

I actually went from rain x horizons last time, and just bought the cheapest metal ones I could find this time. They still streak in the same areas though.

Try to really clean your windshield. Use claybar.

you can bend the metal a bit on the cheepos so that it puts pressure on the areas that it misses the window.

as for streaking i don't have that after my fidgeting with all those wipers.

matter of fact i have had my cheepos on for almost 2 years now.

the trick... clean the entire wiper including the part that contacts the window and underneath on the window .. streaking should me very minimal at worst.

The streaking can also be caused by tiny chips in the window.

I had a similar problem with my Bosch Evolutions. They one piece style and curve of the windshield on the passenger side always gave me a streak that drove me crazy. Just go down to an 18 blade (if your using a once piece wiper) and it should be fine. Mine was perf!

use ammco winter wipers and never have issues they do not get the passenger side down in the corner but that is due to the glass shape

I work at an auto parts store and sell/install wipers all day long...People have a tendency to always think that the more expensive the blades, the better they are...
However, I use the $3.49 blades and they work just fine. Mine are going on 6 months now without streaking, or anything.

Nope, Take a razor blade and hold it at a 45 degree angle and clean the whole entire window, that is what I did and no more problems.

and use a little bit of water for lubrication, my friend who details showed me how to do it he says a razor blade will get anything off of glass without scratching, unless you use a rusty razor blade.

I use cheap ones on my moms car & those last about 5-6 months before they start to streak & just suck. If I wipe them down with a rag & some soap they can get by a few more months.

I would clay bar the window, then I use my orbital with glass polish.
