Wing or lip spoiler?

I'm planning to purchase a wing or a lip spoiler and I need opinion's and suggestion's. First off all where to purchase, the price and to match the my car paint. I'm leaning towards the lip spoiler since I think I could do install that myself. But i do prefer our original wing spoiler but I need an estimate on how much I'm gonna end up spending including the labor. Thanks.

You could always make a wtt (want to trade) thread in the black market saying that you want to trade your trunk for one with the spoiler and you'll add some cash.

I bet you could find someone pretty easy

deciding between the 2 is all personal preference. since you like the OEM spoiler more, then get that one. i'm not sure how much the spoiler costs, but the lip is probably around $150 unpainted (for a genuine BMW one). much cheaper for a replica

I like the OEM spoiler.

Think it looks great on my CL and I love the 3rd brake light on the wing.

It matched my custom LED tail lights really well.

Really? I think having it makes the rear look shorter. At first I liked the lip spoiler, but after seeing a few CLs around town without any spoiler, the rear end looks way to long. I just hate washing the car because of it.

Yup, www.magauto.com is their actual website. Give them a call and ask for Rob.

OEM all the way. The lip spoiler looks like absolute shit in my opinion, but hey that's why it's an opinion right?

Can anyone in this thread point to where they got the M3/M5 lip painted (SSM)? Or if this one will fit the CL?

i got mine from a BMW dealership w/ the 3M tape. my buddy got it painted for me when he painted some of his parts (b/c we both have NBP cars).

Check with Juniorbean to see if he still has any left. he had the best prices i've seen for original ones. he also had replica's if you want something cheaper. any good body shop should be able to paint it for you.

also, keep in mind that the M3 one is shorter

+1 I would never have a cl without the factory spoiler, without it the lines of the car looks humpy or like it has a huge ass IMO and as far as the lip spoiler, its hardly even there so I wouldn't even consider it an option, either go nothing or factory all the way.

the whole debate about OEM vs lip spoiler will always be split. you just have to get what you personally like

I think we've had a poll before.

It's a long debate.

I think that if you're car didn't come with the spoiler you naturally gravitate to preferring the lip spoiler.

Most people who had the spoiler from factory lean towards the spoiler.

I put a WTT: thread before and nobody wanted to...now I'm kind of glad because IMO the car with no spoiler only looks good at certain angles.

Same here.

I think the M5 spoiler looks good only with the roof spoiler as well.
