Windshield Washer Sprayers?

ok so i got my car and the washer sprayers didnt work. i just got some from acura today! im going to put them in after work. question is.... when i messed with them a while back i found a spring and a ball and broken white plastic??? so i assume check valve.......im replacing them to solve this, but how can i get the gunk thats built up in my washer tank out since i never used it in 2 years.... has anyone had this problem????

Replace it, I don't think it would be that much of an issue and probably can't cost more than $30 I'm guessing but I could be way off base.

the check valves were 6.75 each so not too bad but the lines are rock hard and u have to pull the hood liner.

I thought you were talking about how to clean the fluid tank. I was saying to just replace that. But wow, I just looked online and saw that the whole tank set costs $100 forget that idea.

I guess you could just take the tank off and run some cleaning agent through it and rinse it out with some hot water.

Wow these systems are a PITA. My last vehicle wasn't holding fluid and appeared to be leaking from the reservoir so I go out and buy a new one. Lo and behold when I go to replace it the tank was fine; battery acid had leaked onto the pump causing it to basically melt.

Good luck..

Yeah mine was clogged a long time ago, and I had to take off the hood liner along with those damn plastic clips I ended up gashing my hand up pretty bad with some pliers...

Anyways, I just took out the white plastic piece connecting the tube to the spray spout, cleaned that out with a small brush I had, and it was working as good as new

I broke a few of those clips when I was cleaning out my sprayer hoses, they didnt work when I bought the car, it was a weak spray.

Turned out there was some junk in the lines, just blew it out and it works.

you can take the washer tank out and clean it that way. you'll have to take the front bumper off.
My tank is just empty right now cause I never use washer fluid anyways so I emptied it. plus its shaved off weight lol

Ok the list of things u will need.
-10 clips to hold the liner in.
-u will need the plastic covers for the sprayers since they dont come off either.
-new line for the washer fluid
and tools- clipe remover or needle nose, box cutter, and philips head thats it.
