windshield sprayer problem

I read about this on the TL forum so I thought I'd try it since I never used my windshield spray. It sprays some sort of white residue that sticks to the windshield. The person said it was due to the sprayer lines being broken down by the fluid. He said you have to ask for it for them to replace the lines and fluid. Has anyone else had this problem. I've never seen this on any car before.

the smearing effect was on an early batch of cars due to the alcohol content in the fluid being too high (i think too high, either too high or too low)...since u have a later "born on date," i dunno y u're getting the residue...perhaps there's a break or puncture in a line somewhere...perhaps the wipers need to b changed...perhaps u're getting to the tag ends of your batch of fluid and need to refill...if u still r having problems, do what your friend said, take it in, and have them replace the lines and put in a fresh batch of fluid.

I went to the dealer yesterday for new wiperblades. They replaced them under warranty; said the fluid should be mixed with H2O because it reacts with sun which makes the wiper blades break down and give off a oily subtance. OK by me I got new blades.

It's gotta be more than just the blades because I had a white residue from the spray pattern where it shot out and stuck to the windshield. Probably sucking the acid out of my battery or they're using gelatin for hose material.

Look... very simple

Take it to the dealer, show them refer to the service bulletin.. they will fix.

I had it done already. They replace the lines, blades and clean the windshield no problem. It is not an earlier car issue, it has occurred randomly but an easy 20 minute fix at the dealer.

The mere fact that Acura had to release a bulletin about something like this is ridiculous.
The build quality of other cars CAN'T be this bad.........can it???

Speaking of oily substance, when i had my car for about 2-3 months, the sunroof's rubber was acting weird when I was washing the car...it would have a gooey oily stuff on it and it was a bit hard to rub off.

But it doesn't ever happen anymore, i dunno why so I never bother with it.
