Window stuck down. How to fix?

Passenger side 2001 CL-s
I don't think it's just a programming issue, it seems to have "jumped track".

I did a "search", nothing but tint and cleaning threads
Feel free to flame me if DIY fix it exists.

Sounds like a regulator problem...

Door panel removal DIY is here:

https://acurazine.com/forums/audio-video-electronics-navigation-22/2nd-gen-cl-door-panel-removal-335272/

It's in the offtopic a/v forum, so you wouldn't find it by just searching here on cl.acurazine.com

That will get you started to see where the problem is... I'll look around to see if I can find a window regulator thread, but hopefully some other members who have dealt w/ the regulator before...

https://acurazine.com/forums/showthr...window+diagram

I did a seach for regulator but it looks like most of the guys that had problems got it repaired by the dealer...

I was hoping to grease out with a blown fuse. No such fortune.

When i rip into the interior door plastic sheet, is it neccessary to replace all the plastic. I would say yes to keep rode smell and dust crap out. However, any old plastic or is that some sort of higher quality automotive plastic?

Yeah if anybody has the best prices on a good new regulator, please post.

You should be able to pull the plastic out without damaging it... You just basically need to pull it up out of the way to get in there, so you can leave it attached on the door...

The plastic is also to keep water away from the door panel... so if you do rip it, you definitely should replace it...

regulator and motor

$93.13 part(s) Acura dealer (Kearny Mesa in San Diego) regulator and motor. Told these do not come seperately. I needed both as motor and regulator were disinegrated where they joined.
$104 labor. C and D Automotive owner Dara. He totally knows what he is doing with Acura and Hondas. Very competent, detail oriented. (619) 466-9100 71st and Univercity, corner of Massachusetts and Univercity).

if you have common sense and can look at somthing to see how it works, you can do the labor yourself in about 30 minutes or less.

Unfortunately I did not have access to Monsters links of your instructions until after the fact. The 'hood I live in i did not want to risk even one night of open window. A DIY with pics all in one listing would be a great thing. What did you use to glue the plastic back on the door, or was there enough goop leftover that you just pressed it back on?

My fixed passenger side new regulator and motor are now way smoother and quiter then the drivers side, so i assume the drivers side needing replacing is coming sooner or later.

You got the complete assembly for $75 total from the dealer or $75 before tax n tip? Either way much better deal then $93 out here in SoCal.

$75 was pretty much wholesale. but, it is easier to replace the motor and regulator than it is to pull the door panel. and there was enough goop left on the plastic to reuse it. autopart stores also sell that glue stuff for it in rolls.

good to see you around, bud. gotta make sure to have the window working or closed right now to keep all the air conditioned air in with this baking, hot weather. you have to come out to the meets sometime soon. we're having one tonight as a matter of fact. topic of discussion will be planning all aspects to the upcoming SoCal meet. you've got my number.

Has anyone removed the plastic piece that is in the door (behind the window when It's up?). Unfortunatly, with the piece gone it looks like shit when the winddow is down..... Window up and you cant tell....

Is that what is causing SO much drag on the window that the motors fail?

Every time (twice) I had my regulator changed out under warranty, they took this piece out and left it out. I busted them and had them put it back in. Now I just pulled it out so it doesn't stress the motor so much (or so I think).. WD40 on the tracks helps too....
