Will you trade in your CL-S for Manual SURVEY

Acura has confirmed there will be a 6 speed manual CL Type-S for Year 2002. Would you trade in yours for a manual?

I guarantee that the resale / offering they give me would be ridiculous. I will wait for the M3 I want eventually.

I would do it. Actually I may ask my dad if he wants to take on mine and then get a blue CL-S with a stick.

I will definitely do that if they up the horsepower to around 280 +

If it is still 260, I may wait for a face lift.

no...it changes the whole reason for me buying the car. if i wanted a stick, i'd get somthing smaller and more agile, like the is300 or a bimmer.

Same here. I wanted a kick-ass car with an auto tranny to begin with...exactly what the CL-S is

I hope/plan on trading in a 2k maxima 5 speed se on 1, if the rumors are correct. I will probably drive from MD to NJ to purchase it also.

I'd keep my current CLS, sell my 98 Accord Coupe and buy another CLS with Manual.

If I could get a decent trade-in, I certainly would. Any other rumors on other changes for 2002? TL front end, more hp, seatbelt that doesn't irritate the living @#$% out of me?

Forget getting a good deal on a trade-in. Even if they appear to give you a good deal, they're just hiding it somewhere else. Remember, they have to prep the car and make a profit on it. Now if I could find a private party buyer for my CL-S and not get screwed too bad, I'd buy a 2002 manual in a second.

No, I didn't get an S2000 b/c it only came in stick. Autos are good when you're driving in traffic 95% of the time like myself, and probably everyone else in Miami. Plus, the S2000's interior was way to plain .

If you have been a member here for more then a day you already know my answer.

BUT.....Acura hasn’t confirmed SHIT yet.

If it were actually true I would probably wait until the 2003 model after they iron out the bugs.
My current ride will be paid off by then.

I still doubt it is happening though.

I'm mad, I would have waited if I had known a stick was just 6 months away! If I could sell it privately I might upgrade, or maybe my fiance would like my CLS, and I can take the new one?

IF I had an Acura CL-S, which I Hope to have before the Fall, the Answer is NO. I've driven a Stick for 15 years. It's time to put it away. The Auto is Plenty Fast, sporty, refined for my taste.

That said...who wants to sell Their CL-S ! Come on: You need that DAMN STICK, you know you want it

Probably keep mine.....like the auto since I've been in "sticks" forever. Actually wouldn't want to lose the exclusivity of the gold. Like having something different.

i only bought my type s a couple of months ago. i would have waited for a manual transmission. but now that i've already bought a car, i'm not really willing to trade it in because of the amount of money i'd lose.

Nope, I went from a Bimmer with a stick to the CL-S because I was tired of rowing the gears! The CL gives nearly the same performance with the auto tranny!

I only bought mine 2.5 months ago and had I know about a confirmed manual (which I know its still not 100% yet) I would have waited. I imagine I'd loose a lot on my car, but I may still go crunch numbers if it does come out. I love manual....

I would in 2yrs if it were mine, but wife has claimed it. She will definitely consider a TLS at lease end, I doubt the manual. I will trade my manual 330i, probably for a M3, M5 or new S4.

Nope. I don't know to drive stick, and I don't care to learn right now. If I do deceide to learn stick, I'll get a beater to learn on. Traffic around here is terrible, I would be shifting all the time. Better to just leave it in D5 and be done withit. This was my hands are on the wheel where they belong.

But you are probably looking at $5000-$8000 out of pocket. Think of the mods this money can buy, plus you'll have the best looking/fastest CLS around.

What?

0-60:CL-S=6.4, IS300=7.6
G:CL-S=0.82, IS300=0.82

BTW, GS300 is lighter+same HP=more fun

Now the BMW 330i will get you 0-60 in 6.1, and G=0.83.

If you want to get something more agile, don't talk about that DOG IS300.
