Damnit, doesn't fit.
I ended up buying a black leather S2000 shift knob instead. Does anyone know if any modification is needed to the boot? I don't want it to look lifted, lol.

dunno...most people buy a boot that fits better or use a zip tie sort of method with their original boot....i went with zip tie....looks cool in my opinion...just make sure your numbers are str8...

If you remove the knob the boot will have the 'chrome' piece around it with a big cut out. You can 'ghetto rig' it but it doesn't look right in my opinion. Only by replacing the boot and the knob together can you get something that looks stock I think.
I tried... I didn't like the gap.

MP90 uninstalled
the 2006 acura TL manual knob is the only way to fly. It is as nice as the s2000 knob and the OEM boot snaps right on. Mine looks like it came from the factory this way. the shifter is also about an inch or more shorter.

Blown is Best
Here are pics of how I did mine. Once I removed the plastic ring from the top of the boot, I threaded a cable tie through the holes in the top of the boot. I had the boot flipped inside out and inverted it over the shifter shaft and tightened the ties. If you take your time and fold the boot, it comes out pretty clean.

OT : have you guys seen how much the original CLS-6 shift knob is ?
i was looking here in the black market a 07 TLS shift knob for $55us, but i checked at work and it would cost me here $73can brand new, so it's not a deal for me.
i compared for fun how much is the original shift knob in the CLS-6 : $240can !!!! ouch
on acuraparts247.com it's $175
