will i lose power if i do this?

will i lose power if i take out the resonator? i liked how mike's (forgot his board name) hks sounded without the resonator...power is the last thing i need to lose with my stock engine
I’m not aware of any actual tests that have been done, but I really don’t see how removing the resonator would produce ANY gain or loss of power.
All I think it would do is make it a little bit louder like a CAI.
That small hole isn’t actually passing any air, because it’s completely sealed on the other end.
It’s just there to “muffle” the air passing by the opening above.
And.....If you go through all the trouble to remove that son-of-a-bitch, you should just put a CAI in because you’re 3/4 of the way done with the install if you got that far.

you loose a very very very small amount of bottom end power because the back pressure isn't there, but you gain a very very very little bit at top end because the flow is faster.
it's not worth the hassle/time/money to take it off unless you like the way it sounds with it off
