The wife or the car???

The wife wants me to get rid of my CL and buy her something with four doors. She currently drives an '02 Land Rover Discovery and hates it. I like the Rover but I also like my car and would hate to see it go. So I need your guys help.

Which do I get rid of, the car... :shakehead

...or the wife?

The car...

...or the wife?

I know there are a lot of cool 4-doors out there but I love my CL We'd trade in the Rover but those things depreciate like mad and financialy the CL just makes more sense.
Oh, and before anyone else does it... ...yes I know.

Exactly.

6 speed '05 TL > auto '02 CL

eh.. unless she doesn't wanna drive stick... a new TL would be a nice upgrade either way...

If you tried to get rid of the wife, she would get the car anyway

lol Trell
Why not let her get rid of her Rover so she can get a sedan? As you said, it depreciates like mad so get rid of it while you can still get something for it.

On another note hairybonch.....you know I drool over your rims, if you sell the CL, I have dibs on your rims. You heard it here first.

Why can't you just drive the Land Rover and let her drive the CL. That way you can still keep the CL..

Trade the Land Rover. The older it gets, the less it will be worth and the more headaches you will have. THose things are the biggest POS' out there. It may seem better to trade the CL right now, but I have a feeling over time it will be better to have just dumped the Rover now and get her a 4-door.

in the end really, which would cause you more problems?

a second gen tranny or your wife every four weeks?

Honestly, get rid of the rover and buy her a TL. That should shut her up for a while.

btw funniest first post in a thread ive read in a while

mmm, we have a fair amount of neg equity in the Rover, and I like it for hauling my dogs around, don't know if trading it's an option or not. The TL would be my first choice for a replacement, but it would have to be auto, she won't drive stick, and I'm afraid I wouldn't get to drive it much

I actually love my wife to death and would never really get rid of her over a car. But I knew you guys would feel my pain, I love my CL

If I could only convince her there is another SUV out there she might like to replace the Rover.

What about a FX or Murano? Not the biggest of SUVs, but they handle like cars and are Nissans so they are fairly reliable.

If you love the CL then keep it. See if there is something else that the wife likes. You mentioned that you like the Rover for hauling your dogs around, did you convince her to get the Rover in the first place? Bad move if that was the case! Personally I'd keep the CL but not everyone thinks like me. In the end, make a choice on which car you want to keep and let her get an affordable car that SHE, not you, wants. Good luck!!

You should really get rid of the cl. All the cl is going to do is give you problems with the tranny, wife, dogs and etc. Oh by the way........ I will take the lowering kit off your hands. I probaly live right down the road from you. PM me, new friend. LOL good luck

I don't see how I could tell you what your wife would like to drive. I hate most SUVs and prefer coupes. If I had to get an SUV it would def be a Japanese make.
If you love the CL and hate the RR, switch cars, don't know if the Discovery is 4 doors. She hates the RR and you love to ride with the dogs anyway.

What rims are those, look similar to the SSR GT1s I always wanted.

I agree, But it would even be better if you traded the land rover for MDX instead of a Honda Pilot.
