wierd noise while driving

Hi,

I started hearing some strange noise from my left front wheel while driving. Its not coming from engine, the car idles fine on low or high RPMs.
To hear the noise I need to drive on a perfect road with low RPMs (otherwise the sound of engine is louder). So I hear this hissing noise ?shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh?.
Could this be my brake pads?? They got changed 22K miles ago, and I do a lot of stop and go driving. However, when I apply brakes, I don?t hear anything abnormal.

Any ideas what could be wrong?

Another thing to think about is the wheel bearings. Some members have had to have the front wheel bearings changed after 80-100K miles (IIRC).

How may miles do you have on your CL??

I got 42K miles. Could it be my brakes? How much will it cost me to replace a wheel bearing?

sounds like the brakes... it will probably get louder the longer you drive on it.

Could this be brakes even though I am not applying brakes??
How can you tell if its your brakes or wheel bearings?

how many hours can they charge to diagnose this problem?
I mean its easily reproducable, but they could claim they don't know where its coming from. and what if this is transmission!?

Something's dragging or rubbing; put it on a lift and check it out. My wife had this same concern, and there was a rock stuck in the rotor sheild.

I am thinking its my wheel bearing, I've seen other posts where people had problems with them.,
Its a shame for 40K miles have bad wheel bearings.
I am out of warranty, so they will probably give me a nice bill to pay
I am going to start writing down how much money I spend on repairs, I might have to sell this car. Reliability sucks... I had CV joints replaced 2-3 times under warranty, now its something else(the symptom is different).
this car is crap!

well, it was a bad wheel bearing. Dealership fixed it for $350. This is a major scam:
I found that wheel bearing is only $70 for a part, but ofcourse they sold it to me for $107,
And then $250 to install it??

Anyway, I find it unacceptable on a car with 43000 miles have a bad wheel bearing.
And the dealership sucks, I asked them about giving me a discount since I bought a car here and came for service (30K check up), and they said that there is nothing they can do... what a BS.

I might call Acura Customer Care and complain, I'll just say its unacceptable to have a bad wheel bearing at 43K miles and 4.3 years later.
