they will never help with perfomance, they look ghetto, and I am new here, and have seen a couple people with them. They are way heavier than stock, and anything less than 19" in chrome looks weird. Is there an answer to why someone would spend thousands to look like "rice"? CL is 110x cleaner without chromes IMHO

You said it yourself, "in your honest opinion", it doesn't look good....to many chrome looks nice and performance doesn't mean anything to them. i'm not a chrome fan myself but i don't think you should come out and say they're ghetto and look rice just because you don't like them.

I've got to ride on chrome whether it's a bike or a car.
Why don't you post some pics of your car and show us all how a CL should look to you. Or is your car stock?????

For DekarAshun purposes new guy. We all know they're heavy but not all chrome look bad. It jus depends on the person's taste. Some people are just weird y'know!?? We've all seen peeps w/ pos cars w/ rims more expensive than the car. You wanna talk about weird?? Go to ramblings and look at Dbox's cock. It is an image that will haunt me for the rest of life!!!!

Oh yea..welcome to ACL!

To each their own.. but obviously you don't know the meaning of either rice or ghetto.

I have not seen on CL on here with chrome rims that would qualify as either. The guys who have chrome are doing it for style.. not for racing. The guys who want performance get lighter rims. If you don't like it that's one thing... but don't mis-use terms noob.

I bought some stock 03 CLS rims that have been Chromed.
My reasons-
1. I didn't like the painted wheel look at all but wanted to stay stock.
2. I was gonna sell the car and thought it would help the sale.
3. I didn't want to spend the bigger bucks on premium wheels.
4. I got a good deal on the stock chromes.
5. If I spend big $$$ on new rims I want bigger, so I would wait for my 17" stock tires to wear out first anyway.
6. The chromes may not be long-term, may trade up in the future.
7. The 6 speed is plenty fast for me to overcome wheel weight.
8. Not crazy about chrome either but like it better on my white car than the painted gray wheels it came with.
10. I can sell the chromes for a profit, and the stocks, and get exactly the look I want when the tires wear out.
11. A lot of people seem to really like the chromes on it, so it just depends on what you like.
12. I think chrome looks better on my white car than on some other colors.
13. Wanted to dress up the blandish style of the CLS.
--- Lucky 13, Is that enough reasons for ya?

It's all about style vs speed. Not everyone is looking to go fast and not everyone likes the bling bling factor (no need to flame I had chrome Momos before I switched to the Racing Harts.)
Now with that said, welcome aboard!

hostility? No, we're for the most part very friendly here. Welcome! PM me your address and I will forward it to the person in charge of our A-CL 'welcome wagon'. His name is Dale and he lives in Texas, but he has been known to send out free Acura products, and on rarer occasion, fly out and personally greet new members such as yourself.

Welcome to the board. It is good to see another ignorant person on here. How can you make that statement. So what cars can you put chrome on since your the expert. Are my chrome BBS's ghetto too? Keep your ignorant comments to yourself. Oh btw nothing looks as good as chrome on a sunny day with the light reflecting off of it. Yes some chrome wheels look ghetto, but to say all is just stupid
