IMO, I don't like chrome on our cars, but i'm sure alot of people here also think my bronze rims are ricey. I think chrome belongs on benz's and other big body cars. They look out of place on the CL.
But that's my opinion and i'm sticking to it. Everyone has different tastes, it does also depend on where you live. Out here everyone in thier mom throws chrome on everything from nissan sentra's to old grand fury's. It's lost it's touch and to me makes all the nice chrome rims look like crap because you see chrome all over the place.

i used to have 18' chrome on mine...but like everywhere else...chrome got played out...so i switched to 19' RH C3's....they have no where near the "bling" effect of the chromies, but people that know good wheels will give me the "nod" lol....but i kinda miss chrome, on a nice sunny day when they're clean, they look awesome...but nowadays there's so many cheap sets of rims that it all kinda looks the same...

I agree that these days chrome rims are getting kinda ghetto...but when the right wheel is chosen I think it also looks very classy. You can go down the S. Phx and see tons of ricer civics with yelow racing stripes and 17" chrome Elite wheels....they looks GHETTO. On the other hand, go to Scottsdale and see a classier car...like a CL, BMW, Benz, etc...and chrome wheels look nice. But this is jusy my opinion...

okay, chrome stock rims don't look good, they look 100x's better w/ the factory finish on them. They almost look plastic when they are chromed
but that's my opinion

I like chrome but I love polished rims. Chrome looks incredible but IMO, it takes away from the car since all you notice are the wheels. I've had more compliments on my non-chrome wheels than previous sets of chrome.
So it's really all personal preference. Technically, chrome should only go on wire wheels, which belong on Jaguars, older cars etc.
If u LOVE chrome, go to Cardomain.com where you can see the biggest, ugliest chrome wheels on any car imaginable!

"it hurts performance"
should of thought of performance before ya bought a FWD LAND YACHT.
and "chrome" doesnt hurt your performance. any particular wheel... chrome or not... if its heavy... will slightly hinder performance.
but far less then not having a good suspension setup and far far far less then having a car with 60+% of the weight on the front driving wheels.

oh and touching on chromed stock... what looks good to enthusiasts is never what looks good to the average person.
not saying id do it.
but... to each his own.

WOW - it's the noob's 1st post and already he's gettin' phocked. I dig chrome - if I had my way, I would have bought the Lowenhart LD1s - but he lived too far away - Virginia... Instead I had to settle for the Advans...

Nothing looks better than a clean black car with a set of chrome wheels, or a blue clean car with chrome wheels. Wait a minute, they ALL look good with chrome wheels. It's definitely a southern California thing. All great looking cars had chrome when I lived there. On the east coast, unless you have another set of wheels, the weather will pit them in no time in winter.
