why does it put such a big smile on my face...

...when I race a Street bike through the twisties???

I took the long way home today and drove through Schenley Park. For those that don't live in Pittsburgh, Schenley Park used to be a race track and is still used today, one weekend out of the summer for the Vintage Grand Prix.

Anyway, I was flying through there, and I guess a dude on a motorcycle heard me, and before I knew it there was a one light on my tail.

I had just exited the park when he caught up to me so the biker pulled a U to go back in. I decided to bust a U and followed him.

VTEC'ed the entire way through the park, only slamming on the brakes in the precise areas. I was on his tail the entire way through.

When we got out at the other end, he busted another U to go back into the park, gave me a quick two honks...and flew off.

Ahh...what a rush...CAI blaring hard the entire time...

I couldn't wipe the smile off my face...

That's cool to hear more about "Why I Love My Car" threads than more bitchin' posts!

I always wondered how our car would do compared to an average sportbike.

It'd get it's ass handed to it.

Our car doesnt come close to pulling 1G in a turn like a Z06 corvette, or mod'd C5. And either of those cars won't keep up with a crotch rocket in cornering.

Night and day difference between a sport bike and a CLS.

Even if you put springs, sways, shocks, wheels, racing slicks on your CLS then dropped 500lbs from it, it'd still get spanked around the track.

Of course unless you had a bad driver on the motorcycle.

Musta been a noob on the bike.

I don't like to street race my bike very much -- I like being alive with all bodyparts functioning. But the times I've done it, I haven't lost against a car yet. A bike may only have 100 or so hp, but it weights about 400lbs wet. All about power to weight ratio.

The thing I love doing the most --> seeing some dude in his $60K Benz with a hot chick next to him. Just gotta blip the throttle once or twice and they always want to race -- gotta act like a big shot in front of their woman.

Then watch their face drop as their $60K ass gets handed to them by a $8K bike.....
