Why does my car start up weird everytime
Is it just me or does everyone's car starts up weird. I mean, i understand when its cold out, but its like 70 degrees out now and it still starts like it was left in the cold not touched for a week. Its like it has to take extra cranks to start the car. I know people were saying u turn it on then wait a min. before starting the car, but I never had this problem in the lexus or bmw. Its kinda embarrassing when ur in a parking lot starting ur car, every car starts up fine except urs takes like an extra 5 secs to start.

My TL does that occassionally, it sputters a bit and then finally turns over. I'm not sure why it does this, and the car actually tends to start BETTER (and quicker) when it's cold. It's never stalled on me and has been doing this since Day One, so I'm not worried.
Honda has recalled some ignitions, as I just posted, however...it doesn't affect our models.

in fact, i even tap the accelerator 2 or 3 times before i even start the car when it's cold out...summer is no problem, 2 or 3 cranks, and i'm golden

My tech verified what I thought - you turn it to II, wait for the fuel gauge to come up, then crank her over. It's not the same as other cars where you just insert the key and jam it through all the stages and have it start. It's just not made that way.
I've been starting it this way for a good ten months and never once has it extra cranked. When I used to just put it through the stages in one blow it would have that excessive cranking almost every time.
And I don't know why it's like this - all other cars I've driven start up when you jam it through all the stages in one shot. But whatever, a little patience and you are okay.

there's a yellow coil-wire light that stays on for about 5 seconds to heat up enough for u to turn the engine over...in the cold, even that doesn't necessarily work 100% of the time
i LOVE that engine...it's like a mini-truck engine in a station wagon body...blowing it out was the most fun...smoke screen everyone behind me!!! LOL

I think its because the fuel has not yet hit the fuel pump, but i took mine over to make sure and they said it was normal and nothing to worry. Maybe a trip to the dealer would make you feel better.

I've noticed this from day one of owning my TL-S.....these V6 engine starts weird...even tho I also do the fuel pump thing..sometimes...it still doesn't work. I also noticed my car starts the best in the morning. anything after it's driven.....the car acts different at every start... :o It's so annoying....Also..sometimes when I start the car...the needle would jump to like 500.....then...750....then finally up to 1K RPM.....and back down to 900.... o_O* it looks like the needle is stuck..
