Why does the car roll so much at stop?

I know I have seen this thread when I first came on the board. I totally forget the response becuase I didn't have the car so didn't experience it. Why when you are at a light can you not let go of the brake and the car slowly inch up. If you let go it starts moving very quickly. the only way to make it stay idle without holding your foot down is N. But otherwise it moves a lot. Am I just crazy or is their some truth behind this. And if so why?

All autos pull against the brakes at a light. Its the torque converter. There's no clutch to physically separate the engine from the tranny. They're always coupled. The difference is that ours has a power surge when the AC compressor cycles. So if you use just enough pressure on the brakes to hold the car, it will jerk forward a little when the AC kicks in.

I was driving my old '94 taurus the other day. No matter how slow I was going, if I came to a complete stop, the car would suddenly jerk forward and back about 1 inch. Very very annoying.

How come when I push on the middle of my steering wheel a loud honking noise comes from the engine compartment?

Hey shutup
.
I posted this like 8 days ago but it just came back. I know all Autos move forwards I was just wondering why the CLs do it so much. they jump on you if you let go a little bit. Other cars I have driven have just rolled slowly. HAHAH, wanna race.
