Considering its due for an upgrade just like the Accord, yes I would say you can find bargains at this time.

I was suprised to see that they were offering 0% financing for 60 months on it!! I have never seen Acura offer a low finance rate.

That's a great deal for that price. I can't think of anything better in that price range. Go for it

As per Edmunds, there's also a $4,000 dealer cash incentive until 09/03/02...

Aren't they redesigning the RL for 2004? I seem to remember something about some new gadgetry like a night vision system, but that could have been BS. If I could remember where I read it I might be able to back that up. Does anyone else know?

Jesal, whats up bro? Is your dad leasing the vehicle? My dad also needs a new car and I think the RL will suit him just fine, can u pm me w/ the leasing info or finance info (i.e. monthly payment, total at signing etc. ) so that I can make sure my dad doesn't get raped by the dealership. thanks Bro

Obviously there is a reason they have never sold well and they are offering all these incentives. A RL at 44k or 38k is still a RL, as inspiring of a luxury car as eating Corn Flakes.

Well he is going to be buying it. So I told him to go check peoplefirst.com for a loan, he got approved for 45k for 60 months at a rate of 5.4%.. but i didnt know acura was offering a 0% finacing deal on the RL..So i better check on that.

Well I did the email attack last nite to the dealers around me, and my phone just blew up today. 2 dealers out of the 5 agreed to my price which was $38,300, thats a new 2002 RL with NAVI. So im good to go on price. I called my old man to tell him, he says we will swing over later tonight.

BUt like i said i really want to find out more on the 0% interest rate!!!

it really is a shame acura has done nothing to the RL. It is supposedly a flagship sedan, and the Tl-S and Cl-S should really not outpower it. I wonder if a much needed V8 would help it out.

Usually they post the AHFC specials on www.eAcura.com, but there's nothing there now for the RL.

It is a bullet proof BARGIN ! I am considering one if in deed Acura bumps a new model out ! The current RL is ROCK SOLID ! Granted its under powered, but that is why I have my CLS......

WOW 3rd RL huh? Pretty impressive...my dad isn't a car enthusiast like most of us here and wants something w/ a good ride and isn't 2 firm. He barely goes over 80 mph and doesn't care abt. hp as much and acceleration. Oh well..I know...he's weird :sqnteek: Thus the RL would do perfectly, sure the Benz and Bimmer have a bit more prestige but a savings of $300+ per month isn't bad at all

Did you consider a GS300 or 525... I would recomend both to my dad over the RL.

Both are near the same price range ($38-40k) as the RL and will have much better residual value.

Plus the RL isn't even VTEC and still uses the Honda parts bin...

The RL isnt as bad of a car as everyone thinks. Its a great car for a guy who isnt into cars and wants a reliable car. My dad is old, he doesnt have time to take the car to the dealer for small problems that bmw has. Main reason he cant get a a 5-series or gs300.. is because its RWD, i dont trust my dad in a rwd car in the winter time. The RL is a tank in the snow, even better than my TLS was. Also before you say A6... it just not as comfortable as the RL. Go sit in the RL and you will sink in the seat cuz its soo soft.

So yesterday my dad bought it. Got it for $38,300 and thats with navi. Satin Silver with ebony interior.

I asked about the 0% finance but they didnt have that, but they did have another offer for 4.9% for 60 months. Which my dad did since it was way lower than what his bank gave him.

When my dad told me he wanted the RL again, i didnt want it at all. I went shopping for A6 and all that. But then after pricing things out, and putting saftly as in issue.. the RL is the best car for a guy like my dad. Im happy with the choice.

At least he didnt get a gay color like he did last time. Last time he got that oyster looking color.

I can agree with all that you wrote except, "Also before you say A6... it just not as comfortable as the RL. Go sit in the RL and you will sink in the seat cuz its soo soft.", the interior design/ergonomics/comfort in the A6 3.0 Quattro ownz the RL. The A6 has one of the nicest interiors in the world, I just don't like the exterior.

But anyways congats on at least one member of the family staying loyal to Acura

Oh I agree that the layout in the a6 is much better. But i was talking about the seats. The A6 seats are more sporty and firmer than the RL. So i was just saying the RL's seats are softer.

Congrats to your dad bro My dad and ur dad are really similar so its kinda scary I agree w/u, my dad found the ride in the TL-S 2 be firm and not "smooth"... I test drove the Rl for him and really liked the car esp. at the price. Sure I wish it was quicker but who doesn't want their car 2 be more quicker (look at viper owners) The Rl is very comfortable and a really nice place 2 be in esp. after a rough day or on long trips. The leather seats are awesome, and the real wood is really nice

For 38 grand its not a bad deal at all

p.s. Jesal my dad is gonna lease the car and I'll let you know how that goes...he's looking 2 get that cream color similar 2 WDP although i'm tryna convince gim 2 get black on black and some nice rims lol

My Grandfather is probably getting a RL next year. But he doesn't want a Navi, so will the price be around 36k?

Well it doesn't matter. Without even consulting me first, my grandfather bought a Lincoln Continental...EXACTLY the same as the one he traded in. I was pissed because he said he was going to wait until next year and of course consult with me. The cars he was interested in were the RL, Jag S-Type, S80, GS300/430 and the LS430. His first choice was the LS, but couldn't justify the extra $$$ for "a car too similar to his continental" (similar???). He did get a huge deal since they are being discontinued, but he would be happier with any of the others. I am mad
