I highly doubt the use of a resistor or diode will disable a programmed code. It's one thing if it's simply looking for a voltage or signal, but the auto learn procedure is a programmed application in the ECU.

Hey - may be dumb questions - would the gains from cams be the same for a 3.2 type S as they would a premium...in the same vein are we all looking at similar number increases from the same cam spec or are certain configurations just not going to be worth it?

Ok if money is the issue then everyone should start a "I want my damn cam" fund. Everyone who wants cams donate a little to the experiment and have your donation apply towards your cams when they are mass produced. If it all fails tough crap you lost your money but it was worth a try.
As far as guniea pigs I want to nominate someone who knows their J-series engines and have a good tuner close by to give this project everything they got.

mmm cold winter skin and banging your knuckles into all the metal pieces on the car Then the feeling of warm water carresing your cold hands so that it feels like a burning static feeling attempting to revive your numb apendiges.
Yeah try washing your car when its cold
Not something I wish to repeat haha.

I just finished the new design of a twin turbo system for the v6 3.0. Tests at 6, 8 and 12psi so far have been successful. Dyno results are about what we expected at these boost levels and on pump gas. 6psi 257 whp, 8psi 279whp and 12 psi 313whp. Before swapping injectors, running race gas and upping the boost, we're going to take it to the track to lay down some numbers.
Will update with results. You wont even want to think about cams once you see how inexpensive we're going to offer this system for.

I find it hard to see this occuring on an A/T though, but it would also explain the lower numbers.

It dosent have stock pump, stock injectors or anything like that, but it made the power quite easily.

Wow what a tool.
You know it never fails. Try and give your brothers some inside information on something thats a breakthrough about to happen and get shot down. Everyone wants to be an expert and call foul. I should've gone with my right mind and completed everything, put out a successful press release on the West Coast and then let the rest of you fall in line trying to get your hands on one !
Its ok, Im sure that there are some who wont claim to know it all and we'll be able to have a decent discussion as we progress on this system.
Further data logs show that timing was being pulled due to very high knock count via a falty knock detector. The detector has since been replaced and new dyno results should show much better numbers.
Why twin turbos? Going with a smaller turbo yields much quicker spooling for street use. Although this car will be run at the drag strip occassionally, it is intended to be a stealthy street car. First looks wont even have a clue that youre about to get your ass handed to you.
I was prepared to post a bunch of pics today of the various stages of the build. Because of the comments and response that I've seen so far, I think I will hold pics until we've completed testing and the first few units are ready for shipping.

E30cabrio, I hear ya, but I see you have to walk on eggshells here, so Im going to be very reluctant to offer too much info here for now on based on some of the responses I've seen. I use this board to educate myself and hope to offer info as well. If this is how it's received, then I'll just be patient.
Can I contact you and share information off the board?

It would have been much more effective for you to have started another thread as you should know if you frequent internet forums. Several members including myself questioned the power output given at your stated boost levels albeit we use a J32A2 and you were clearly talking about a J30A1 as you stated. You could have simply stated the engine difference and the broken knock sensor and that would have sufficed to shut up a few people. It sounds to me like you got ass rapped in a few other forums and are now very gun shy. Trust me, EVERYONE here wants to hear what you are up to. I encourage you to change your attitude and start a new thread covering all of your work and what you are up too. You just might make some money. The members here are some of the most amazing board members I have come across and know some scary shit about auto mechanics. Being that a turbo has already been done a few times here I am certain that you could even get a lot of help when you go to apply this turbo to the J32A2. I have to credit this board for fine tuning my automotive knowledge. Random arguing and bull shit nonsense does not fly for long on this board. The mods will jump on it like stink on shit. Get it together man, we are all on the same team. Take it for what it is. Lets see some results in a new thread called, “New complete twin turbo kit soon to be available for the CL”. This thread is about Custom Cams
