Some people are pretty damn stupid. At least this sxeller knows not to show the emails because some good samaritan will definitely tell them whats up.

If I can get those bidders' emails, I can sell them some of my stickers that add 20+ HP!! For a discounted rate of 50 bucks each...good deal right?!?!?

Because if it was legit, we'd all know about it and \ it'd be mass-marked by someone who sees the potential for big money in yet another aftermarket part.
It is like infomercials advertising instant weight loss with no effort. If something like that actually worked and existed, huge multi-billion dollar pharmaceutical (sp?) companies would be marketing it and we'd be hearing about it in the evening news and not on an infomercial. That's what I think on all that.

 

or it could be just that the thing is simpy illegal to have on street cars and thus no one would buy it.

 

The thing that scares me about it, is when we installed the random tech cat on our cars, we lost a SUBSTANTIAL amount of torque. We did gain high end HP, but the amount of torque that was lost, wasnt worth it.

yeah i heard that if you custom a piping from the downpipe without cat all the way to exhaust it does gain HP... but 2 bad reason is that you might lose some torque and if the cops bust you for no cat.... quite a hefty fine....

Not to mention that with a test pipe the exhaust stinks!

Anyone who'd shell out $60 for a test pipe is lazy. A local muffler shop can whip one up for probably $30 tops.

 

You beat me to it..exactly how I would've explained it. I don't know shit about engine mods and exhaust and all that. But from a business point of view..if it worked, we'd know about it. And he wouldn't have to hide the emails. Its kinda common sense even for someone who doesn't know about engine mods (me) to see that u can get the same thing from a muffler shop for 20 bucks.

Cops won't really fine you with no cat cuz they won't ever look down there JUST for your cat..well in NYC at least. You just won't pass inspection, but there are ways around that too. So then again..if it did work--everyone would have it and know about it and see the dyno charts on his site.

 

I'll take a crack at this; I was involved in some flow bench testing of the converter for our cars at the manufacturer, Calsonic. There was only about 1 - 1.5 Inch back pressure per 100 CFM and we will not flow more than 400 CFM at this point.

1 Inch reduction can equal about 1 HP gain, but there is little to work with.

I don't have exact figures but "seat of the pants" I think it definitely helped... my car is way more responsive.. I've driven mine for awhile now and it seems to work, I'm planning on putting the cat back on and trying it to see if my "pants" evaluation is correct...

I don't have emissions checks like other states..

Yes, it does stink, and yes its a bit louder, but not any louder than some of the mustangs I hear around here or those riceboys with the big huge potato shooters...

Its a relatively simple bolt on deal too...

I thought it was kind of strange to hide emails too, but product was shipped right away, and it bolts up fairly decent, not an exact fit, but if you have ever messed with hopping up moto cross bikes, that stuff doesn't fit that well either...

 

You will get HP gain....be replacing the cat conv. , but in effect you will reduce back pressure. This thing is not legal that why it's not in mass production and that's why it says for "testing" only. By removing the cat you will let all the emission crap into the air and it does small like $hit.
