So what cars should I be able to take with my '01cl-s with IHE?

I've actually never street raced, and don't plan on doing so, I was just curious...

I'm talkin' I guess from a highway roll..., cause I know our cars love the top end races.

-and waht speeds puts us in the perfect gearing to reel cars in? I remember it was something like, 50mph @ 2nd, and 80@ 3rd? I'm sure I'm horribly wrong.

 

The exhaust won't make much difference, but headers definitely will. The intake will make a decent difference. I honestly didn't get to really race many people when I was only intake an headers. I raced stock and then s/c'd. Jim (UNCTypeS) has headers and intake on his '03 auto, he could prob help you out.

As far as 50mph in 2nd and 80mph in 3rd, that sounds just about right...

 

What kind of open ended question is this? Do you really want some one to research every car available and create a list of hundreds of cars to see which you can beat and post it here? Go to www.dragtimes.com and you can spend days looking at peoples 1/4 mile times.

Just going off of people's experiences... what they've killed on the highway, what's killed them on the highway...

 

Well put it this way... your car with I/H/E is trapping high 90's. So anything that traps 100mph or higher should pull you on the highway.

Example of such cars are the 05 GT, 98-02 LS1's, SRT-4's (well that one will be close)... etc.

Cars you can beat are pre-05 GTs, LT1 f-bodies, not-too-fast DSM's (they're dogs in top-end) etc... like I said, anything that traps under 100mph.

Kind of a vague answer, but it's a vague question!

 

Well thats assuming those cars you posted are bone stock, otherwise they will all be faster. And LT1's if running good are damn near 100mph stock, but how many stock GT's or Camaro's are there anymore? My car doesnt run over 1000mph, but I beat Darrin a couple times and he's I/H/E/P.

Just go out to the drag strip with some buddies and have fun, and try not to race on the street too much, it gets expensive.

 

I can take an eclipse GTS easily of course I think this one was either mildly modded or stock

 

I'd say probably a good 85% of the cars on the road.

 

well if you wanna know what people have killed...then i guess a list should do just fine

i don't have headers, but the cars ive killed/walked so far:
a4 (no brainer)
sentra se-R
gs-R
civics n accords
older body style mustangs

thats pretty much it so far..i stayed even with a g35c from 80-110-ish, and actually hung with a 745 at the same speeds. im guessing with headers you should have the slight edge.

by the way i got walked on by an se-R from 80+..is that normal? i've beaten several, but this one kept pulling on me slowly but steadily.

 

I used to own a 02 Sentra SE-R Spec V and I can tell you right now there is NO TOP END on that car. I raced my friends RSX-S when I had the se-r and after 80mph he walked me like no tomorrow.

 

Start hunting. You should be able to own Maximas, Accords etc. They are the ones that seem to like to race me.

 

No thats not normal, those things are pieces of shit, they have 170 hp. You should be able to take a se-r with louie anderson in your back seat.
