I've got 46,000 with no problems and just realized that at 50,000 miles your Acura Total Luxury Care is no more, it runs out.

March 2000 Motor Trend had an article on AAA vs Acura Total Luxury Care and others for Roadside Assistance. For $49.95 a year you can renew your Acura Total Luxury Care. They will tow you to the nearest Acura dealer where for the same money AAA will only tow you to the nearest station within 7 miles of your breakdown. I'm going to renew.

Is the 49.95 is for one year or for like certain miles beyond 50,000?

I'm getting close to 50k (about 48k) with no problems. What exactly is it that Acura TLC offers that you can't get for pennies with your own insurance company?

Acura TLC renewell is $49.95/year. They offer everything that they do now including $300/day for trip interuption up to three days, trip routing, eyeglasses, passport, medical supply shipping, etc... not that you would ever use that.

I might check out a towing rider on my auto insurance like you suggested. I'm wondering if they would tow to the nearest Acura dealer if you were in the boonies, 400 miles away from nearest dealer like Acura TLC will. Will check it out.

F--k Acura TLC. When i first got my car I asked them to put together a travel plan etc. for me and they couldn't even find me as a customer so they just didn't do anything--no notice, no call--no materials.

Anyways, I would hope that this is an isolated incident and that it is not the norm. Otherwise 50$ a year to continue that would be a serious ripoff. With the other benefits afforded by AAA as well as the cost savings it seems silly to think the program from Acura could stack up.
