while we're on CAI......AEM CAI vs. Generic CAI

I am wonder if there is any difference in performance of a AEM CAI vs just a plain generic CAI. The AEM one is about $220-240 vs. $100 for a generic one. Can someone shed some light on this subject? Thanxs

Dyno, yes because the tube for the AEM is tuned, ie diameter is precisely the same throughout the 3 corners consistent in the tube. This makes for better flow. It also is zircadia powder coated for cooling properties, plus it looks oh so good and sounds better. generic is just that I believe u get what u pay for unless u get i onsale then that's called consumer profit!

ok. So the name brand does matter, just like springs and shocks and stuff. I didn't want to spend the $100 on something that just made more noise and not any more HP/torque.

It also has brackets so it can be bolted to the frame insteadof just hanging from the throttle body. It also has ridges along the edges of the pipe so that clamp will hold the rubber connector thingy (starting to sound like amir) without any chance of coming off.
