We will see what happens.. If it does not happen, I am interested in knowing why.....

What are you guy's feeling right now... to pulley or not to pulley? I am honestly stuck in the middle. I want to see the dyno. How much hp are these things going to have to make for you guy's to buy them? I know I will buy at least the PS pulley because it looks so nice.

Guys, Sorry I didn't post the dyno. I put out 231 hp and 211 lb torque. I'll post it when i get a chance to scan it.

So what are the HP and torque Gains ! What was your baseline?

I guess you gained 6 HP and some 11lbft of torque, right?

if there is one mod that could seriously fuck us over, it would have to be pullies....(i guess nitrous is #1, but thats a gimmie) what im trying to say is that if we put these pullies on, dealers are gonna give major grief about the modification...and if there is some internal engine failure, they will no doubt use the pullies as a reason to void a warrenty, and in that sinerio, how could we possibly prove that the pullies didnt cause any damage, especially considering the lack of a dampener or anything....the cost to repair some serious engine damage i.e. bearings worn out or fucked up crankshaft, etc, is gonna be VERY expensive and the dealers will have a GREAT defense in the fat that the pullies are on there....i mean intake, headers, exhaust, springs...stuff like that cant really do any damage that would cause a serious breakdown (other than hydrolock but that is obviously incredibly rare) so those type of mods dealers dont seem to gripe about too much but a set of pullies could wreak havoc on our engines and our warrenties and even with the magnusson moss act, how could it help is if its clear that the pullies can cause serious damage and bearing wear?? pullies may yeild decent results but i wont be putting them on anytime soon, not until i know they are safe and will not void my warrenty under ANY circumstance

why did you start this thread then? my pulleys were installed by acura, and i know paa has done them too.

you're never going to get an unconditional guarantee against voiding your warranty. so you may as well just forget about the pulleys.

The actual gain was around 10hp and 8lb torque. The number don't really show it, but once you hit VTEC with the pulleys, you will see the RPM sky rocket.

Headers will have to wait. I'm thinking about 3, possibly 4 different headers.
1) The Comptechs are already out and proven.
2) The Prototype racing ones are suppose to be out sometime according to the rep there. They are equal length, but in the pic they are ceramic coated and will dissapate too much heat. Therefore the car will fail emmisions. According to Shawn from UR.
3) One of the members is suppose to be having a friend makeing headers. He's on LI, so I might be able to get a dyno and test out those headers.
4) Shawn from UR, said that they will POOSSIBLY be making headers for out cars. He said taht he will try to give a power incrase throughout the entire RPM range, and not just at high end. Make note that this is only a idea and no testing or production has occured.

I just want the most power for my money.

RE: #2 dissipate too much heat???? The ceramic coat is there to decrease the heat (keep the heat on the inside, and keep the heat OUT on the outside). I'm not doing it to my Comptech headers, that's just me... As far as the "fail" emissions from the standpoint of "giving-up" too much heat -- I would really like to hear the explanation on that one. If there is something "new" in the "ceramics", let me know. I think they are a great idea for mild steel headers to keep from any carbon migrating into the steel and making them hard. But, when you're talking stainless steel (304, etc), they should hang together...

AS a rule, the "new" deal is to make sure the catalytic converter is closer to the exhaust (rather than farther) and is "HOT" to allow the cat to heat up (they don't work well cold). As to making it too hot, well, I didn't hear that. If someone says your headers dissipate too much heat", that means "to dissipate" = "to waste" = "to give up" heat to the surrounding area and that is exactly what people DO NOT get this stuff for. Quite the opposite, they go with ceramic coats to INCREASE the gas temps and decrease the heat rejected to the engine compartment… (You can screw yourself up if some numb nuts puts too thick of a coat on -- inside the pipe -- and messes the flow up…)

Oh Boy... Please do check that one out again

BTW, the 6-speed might me a good "match" for an equal length with its closer gear ratios. My constant lengths always made more power at one rpm (generally high) at the expense of some low-end torque. (I'm not sure how great that would be with the auto -- but since you have a manual... it might be nice...

The Comptechs do work as is...

FUN FACT: The Prototype Headers will not be ceramic coated, just the pre-production set were. Ours would be SS like Comptech's.
