Where to start???

I dont have any interest in lowering it, and am not crazy about rims yet! I would like some performance upgrades, maybe get the cheap stuff out of the way first. What are some must haves that I need to pick up? I dont want a cold air intake as it rains too much in Florida and I dont want to have to avoid puddles. So I am thinking a short Ram intake and maybe a performance chip??? Any help with what to get, where to get it and how much it will run is appreciated.

Search is your friend. So much has been discussed.

I/H/E, but since you dont want a CAI, go for the comptech icebox. Not a CAI, but better overall. Same with headers, but that will set you back a bit.

there are other parts out there that are a good bang for the buck like UR Pullies or TB Spacers, but i'd probably wait on those and go for I/H first.

Exhaust is good for the sound, but won't give you much in terms of gains.

Also check out the big orange link at the top of the 2nd gen forum for most of the info you could ever need.

Driving through puddles isn't going to cause you to suck up water. Submerging your front bumper in 2-3 feet of water. That being said if you are concerned about that get the Comptech Icebox b/c it has a flap on it so no water can be ingested into the intake system.

You should search though b/c this all has been covered many times and in that sticky thread.

The best mods besides the intake are headers and pulley and if you want a chip I can get you a UNICHIP. PM me for prices on everything.

You must of been unfortunate that day you sucked up water. I still haven't had any issues.

An SRI is a waste of money. If you're gonna do it, do it right and get a CAI, preferrably a CT Icebox. You're not going to suck up any water with it and you'll gain the most power. Whatever you do, DO NOT GET A SRI! You'll just suck in hot air.

Short Ram Intake = No ... j/k ... it still takes in hot air from the engine bay so the gains are minimal. It is more for sound than power.

As fast as I have been flying around Florida since my purchse, I have decided that my first item for the car should definitely be a radar detector, maybe with a laser jammer built into the front and rear bumpers. Figured it will pay me to take the precautions first before suping it up any. Also I am going to go after market with a head unit and some subs, the Bose system just seems so much weaker than the one in my (now ex-wifes) Ml 55. Does anyone have any pictures of their radar detectors installed? I need to see where it will look the best, and if I can hide the wiring at all for it.
Thanks
Noob
