Where to purchase factory spoiler at a discount?

I did not get the spoiler installed when I got the car new. I was not gonna pay $800 for that thing when I know it doesn't cost more than 300 I am sure. My friend owns a body shop and is looking to find one for me, also do you guys know of a discount for the club here or a place to get it at a good price? Also do they come prepainted? Thanks.

Now I noticed that they have 2 types.

1) A Replica of the factory spoiler and it comes painted for half the cost of the factory one.

2) Acura OEM Spoiler, non painted.

Now is the Replica a perfect replica in size, and the quality, is it not wavy, or any defects in it compared to the factory one? I really don't want to order a junky one just by going cheaper without knowing this. Thanks!

I know the TL one is a perfect replica but I dunno about the CL one. If you have questions ask Tim tim@autocarparts.com

Dealer quote to the body shop, $427, I think that 400 dollar markup is alot.

I thinks it's definately better to get it as part of your purchase package and work for a reasonable price. Once you get into buying OEM spoilers aftermarket it gets very expensive very fast when you take into account spoiler cost, painting cost (shich can be anywhere from 100-400 bucks depending on who you know) and installation costs (unless you do it yourself).

It can probably end up costing you more than 800$ in the long run.

think of it this way, ever buy funtiture? (even bigger mark-up)
call around to other dealers, some will blow them out cheap depending on inventory, just have them ship it to you, they are easy to install, there is marks in the trunk where to drill - on the underside small circles - it comes with template and instructions, if you install yourself, don't forget to use touch up paint in the holes you drill and install the supplied trunk tension rods

Spoiler actual cost from dealer, $375 + $100~ for painting and installation. That is way cheaper than the dealer $800. Even the aftermarket one for 279.00 is painted.

Dunno, thats what I got quoted from a friend that owns a body shop. If the factorys are painted, that is a pretty good deal then.

Just get the Acura spolier. They do come from Acura painted already in a box. They have them by color code. I found out the hard way. I was going to get the dealer spolier with my car. I told them no when I found a painted knock off on ebay, locally in FL. I picked that one up. Now here are the problems I had. The added weight of the spolier made the trunk lid too heavy. It would not stay open. I had to get new heavy duty trunk springs, These are included in an Acura kit. I also had to wire the brake light in. I had to splice wires. The kit includes a factory wire harness, That make's it's a plug & play install. I also had to pay Acura to install it. So I got the Spolier for $180.

Cost me $100 for install(they also installed my painted mudflaps)
$35 for the trunk springs
$30 for that install
$10 for wire taps to get the brake light working
Total cost was $355
I could have gotten the spolier from the dealer with the car for $400. I saved a wopping $45! But I had to deal with the aggravation!
