Angry Where could air be coming in from in the PS pump?

I've had a power steering pump issue (whine) ever since I had a mechanic replace my timing belt for regular service.

Another mechanic friend of mine jacked the car up, turned the wheel and worked the air out of the system back in the summer. However, within 1/2 a day, the problem returned. Air is obviously getting in the system somehow.

Anyone ever replace the o-ring that attaches the pump to the hose from the reservoir?

I really don't want to have to buy a new or reman pump if air is somehow getting into the system somewhere else.

From: Pacific Northwest, blah.
Hold that mechanic responsible. More than likely it was his doing.

Yep, he did. And I had Honda fix it - and afterwards I had the air pushed out. Is the pump complete trash then if my other mechanic can get the air out the traditional way (see above)?? I keep thinking it's not and that something else is causing this.

i had the same thing happen. the shop over tightened the belt and ruined the ps pump bearings. he needs to replace your pump free of charge.
